Wigan give Newcastle Permission to speak to Kone

Mate Hooper will not score goals for us. Its all very well scoring goals for Celtic against an array of **** teams in a **** league but that won't cut the mustard in the Premiership.

 

He looks a natural poacher, Henrik Larrson played in that league and I doubt you'd oppose him playing alongside shearer in his heyday.

Also Newcastle are believed to of dropped their interest in Kone.

Mate there is not even a comparison between Larrson and Hooper. The Scottish League back then was alot stronger and the team he was part of was very good. Samaras scores alot of goals in Scotland, so did Stokes and Boyd, would you want them here? How about the wretchedness of Kenny Miller? The quality of Scottish football over the last decade is beyond awful. We need good players/decent prospects, not Hooper.

He got more than a goal every 2 games for Scunny before Celtic and is still young.

 

Well it looks like Joe's "talk" to Kone has done the trick. According to the Chronicle Wigan are saying Newcastle's interest in signing him is over.

 

Was only ever a token bid, like the link with Aubaymeng was probably Newcastle trying to make it look as if it tried, just pick out players we have no chance of getting.

 

Signing Kone would give you a lift....

 

Now it's all about Remy signing next week. Should tide the club over til they can fabricate the next link? £10m "bid" for Cavani perhaps?
