Rofl, no chance would he go to Arsenal; they're a helplessly languishing fourth place team at best and if anything, are deteriorating year on year. If Suarez wants to leave for escape the UK media and find CL football, he'd be making a bizzare choice by going to le Arse who could very easily be out of CL next season. As for Chavski, no chance he'll be going there, especially for what the report suggests. Absurdly low wage for him and fee is way undervalued. Regarding Spuds' team; I don't actually think they're much better than us MITO. Lloris naughton/walker Caulker (own kid) vertonghen ekotto Parker/holtby dembele Paulinho villa Adebayor Bale Naughton/Walker are ok. Nothing more. Caulker is good. Vertonghen is a classy defender. Ekotto is ok. Parker is turd. Holtby hasn't impressed too much so far. Paulinho is unproven in the league. Really like Dembele though, wish we had a player like him. He'd be rated more than the massively overrated Yaya if he played for a bigger team. Villa is the wrong side of 30 but should prove to be a good signing. Adebayor isn't as good in a system where 90% of the play goes through ball hog Bale. Take Bale out of that team and it's decidedly average or unproven. I think Arsenal are there for the taking too. Cazorla is quality but the other players they've signed to replace the likes of Fabregas or RVP are backwards steps. This is a big summer for them. Their big money signings that they're reportedly after better hit the ground running if they want any chance of 4th. Not saying we'll get 4th ourselves, just that Spuds and le Arse really aren't so superior to us.
Saying that Suarez won't go to another English club because of what he has said about the media is understandable, but I just do not understand where people are coming from in saying that he wouldn't join clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't like it one little bit, but they both get regular CL football and signing a player of Luis' quality is a clear sign of intent that they want to do more. So, if he is to leave Liverpool and we are to ignore the media comments, why not? He joined Liverpool after we finished seventh!!! Plus, we thought similar of another player that left us and he never said anything or had a run in with the media, Fernando Torres. Where did he end up again? Footballers, like fans, are fickle. They are in the game to (a) earn **** loads of money, and (b) achieve things. Especially since we are talking about foreign players most of the time too who couldn't give a **** about rivalries etc.
Lloris naughton/walker Caulker (own kid) vertonghen ekotto Parker/holtby dembele Paulinho villa Adebayor Bale I doubt that will be Spurs team. I'd say more like this: --------------------Lloris-------------------- -Walker-Caulker-Vertonghen-Ekotto- -----------Dembele--Paulinho------------ --------------------Bale--------------------- -----Lennon-----------------Dempsey---- -------------------Defoe--------------------- But with new signings in for Dempsey and Defoe. Some times Bale will move left, Dembele forward and Sandro will start next to Paulinho, and maybe some times instead of Paulinho.
Well I said underneith 'with new signings replacing Dempsey and Defoe'. I only put players they already definitely have in that team.
paulinho is the guy inter dumped coutinho for.... he's real quality. I agree on parker but hey...... IMO that side has the best keeper in the league, one of the best CBs and generally a good defense. one of the most impressive midfielders in dembele, a new signing of massive potential and the player of the year. for 3 years work its damned impressive and i think my favorites for 4th. Contrast to us.... bad signing after bad signing as lead us to the point where our team form 3 years ago is quite intact in terms of reina, johnson, skertl aggr, lucas, gerrard.... what we have is enrique to add to that back three and then we have 4 attacking players in sturridge, coutinho, suarez (if he stays) and aspas. hodgson was a waste of time, we could be lokoing at only enrique being first team from kenny's time. This is why i think 6th is where we'll be at. if we sell suarez for 40million and spend it as well as psurs did i can see us challenging for 4th in a years time.... spend it badly and i can see the buzzards back aorund for the best of our lot like coutinho but worse i can see some aging like jonhson, skertl and agger... not to mention toure.
Suarez might wish to go to Chavski, but not for the wages suggested (hence the believe that the report is bollocks) and certainly not for the transfer fee suggested either. If LFC deal with Roman again, expect us to not let Luis go cheaply. Arsenal are really not that attractive an option, despite what their fans believe. They don't/can't win anything, their big players leave in recent years and they replace them (Cazorla aside) with poorer options, their manager has shown to be moving backwards rather than progressing from the great team of the early/mid 2000's and all they have to show for their efforts in recent seasons is the 4th spot trophy and a nice new stadium with a ****e atmosphere. CL football is a waste of time for a top player if they're gonna get knocked out in the first group stage every year or be at risk of not even making it the following year with Spuds and LFC trying to push on. They won't break their wage structure to pay him the big bucks he'll want and they won't win the trophies he's capable of winning. Remind why he'd go to Arsenal again? No chance he'll go there.
I don't think he will go to either of those, it just annoys me that people say he won't go because he wants to challenge for things, both clubs are in a better position to do that than us!
Arsenal aren't in a position to challenge anything except the Emirates cup - which they didn't even win last time They might be an upward step in a positional sense in the league, but for trophies, they're no better than ourselves. Chelsea yes, obviously, but they'd need to offer an absurd amount of money for us to consider selling to an English team.
But you're comparing the current Liverpool and current Arsenal and forgetting that Suarez would be on their side if he moved
He'd be banned half the season anyway and Cazorla would probably be out of action with mysterious bites on his neck..
He's confirmed it and his old club Corinthians have too, but Spurs haven't yet, for some reason. There's some suggestion that it'll be done tomorrow, giving him enough time to get over here from Brazil and have a medical, but there's also been some suggestion that it'll be done on Monday. Our new kit is being released then and there's been no hint of a leak of it yet, so some people are claiming that the launch will be used to unveil players, too. Can't have a picture of the player holding up the old shirt, I guess, but it might be a case of wishful thinking. As for the line-up, it seems that Villas-Boas wants to go with a 4-3-3, so it'll probably be this, barring any new signings: Lloris; Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Assou-Ekotto/Rose; Paulinho, Sandro, Dembele; Lennon, Adebayor, Bale. There's been a lot of speculation about us signing a couple of forwards and playing Bale on the right though, which is where Hulk had a lot of joy with AVB's Porto side. We'll see how joins and leaves, I guess.
So you're expecting... Lloris Walker - Kaboul - Vertonghen - Assou-Ekotto Paulinho - Sandro - Dembele Lennon - Adebayor - Bale ...? I think that looks quite strong but you could do with a CB (for Kaboul) and CF (obviously Adebayor). I took Rose out because I think Assou-Ekotto is one of the best LBs in the league (definitely behind Cole and Baines). Two attacking FBs, Sandro as DM, Paulinho as CM and Dembele as the AM gives good balance too.
