On Talksport yesterday Harry said the Samba sale will generate the funds for the three or four players to strengthen the squad all round, I'd guess a central defender will be priority along with Parker and a striker and perhaps a couple of PL loanees, what do you think?...

I think it's good we are doing sensible business and not trying to run before we can walk.

The Samba money should go back into the coffers. We should not be bringing 4 or 5 new players until we release the matching amount of the current dead weights.

We have no dead weights we have a very strong squad and Harold or anyone inside football knows that
We have very good players as I said all along we haven't got a good team

I hope in time people understand this better ... Too much fantasy football has bred a culture that now makes us all believe that one player any player can make a difference ... Short term thinking

Harold and Stephens job is to unite the club and thinking more about Stephen I am now a lot happier after Nuts was right Stephen is a good coach

    Harold is not

I expect him to bring in Parker maybe? And Townsend

Just buying a CB as mentioned on here is not easy at all

I maybe wrong and he will sell a few but this current squad is very good

Johnson and Zamora if fit should rip up the championship

Sounds eminently sensible ... so expect to see another 4 midfielders walk through the door!

Would it be fair to say that one will fall while the other may prove to be a worthy cause, remembering that last season, both were walking wounded, one more so that the other.
Maybe with the law of averages, both will see the whole season through without incident, amongst many a goal ............... ( why do I continue to dream? )

Isn't Zamora in need of a hip operation that would keep him out for at least 3 months? Or has he had the op?

It's unlikely both of them will be fit for a sustained period of time - Johnson in particular seems to be one of the unluckiest (or physically delicate) players in all of the leagues. It's another reason we really need to be looking at younger, fitter, more durable players for the long NPC season. Parker is another case in point of a player that might just not have the body to survive at this level.

having said that, he does have the ability to lead a team, so maybe that's 'arrys game... quote from Wikipedia

" Carlton Cole praised Scott Parker's "inspirational" pep talk at half time after, being 3–0 down, West Ham clawed back in the second half to get a 3–3 draw against West Bromwich Albion. Carlton Cole was quoted as saying "If you were there you would have had a tear in your eye" after the half time team talk"

Fair point, although you could argue that's also what the manager is there for... and if he's injured and not on the pitch it's £2m and a reported £60K a week.

At last someome talking sense on here, Seagull! I said last summer Fergusen must be laughing all the way to the bank after selling us Past it Park. Now what the ell do we want to buy Past it Parker for?! Parker showed as clear as day last season he was past his best after his injury, can't see him getting his fitness and performance levels back to what they were at his age, especially when his game, like Park's, was all about running and effort which players can't reproduce when the fitness levels aren't there anymore, and without there ever being really quality skill levels. We got more than enough aged crocks already Park, AJ, BZ, we don't need more. We don't really need more midfield players either. A good CB to replace Samba, a good striker or 2 to replace BZ and AJ, and a good Keeper to replace Green, and Cesar, if he goes are the prioirities.

Strange how Hughes and then Redknapp have both failed to get these 'very good players' to play well.

i agree if we are talking about midfielders but we only have 2 CBs and 3CFs all of whom could be out for the season so we need at least 2CBs and 2 CFs.

Of course we will buy another 5 midfielders that we cant fit into the squad and be paper thing elsewhere.

Could it be because they are not 'very good managers'? All have performed under other leadership

We shouldn't make any excuses for guys earning the kind of money they are and not doing their best or giving 100%. Unforgivable in my view.

I agree, and I have bored everyone with my mantra that the players have personal responsibility for their performances and behaviour (just like me at work) and the manager has overall accountability (just like my CEO). But I have heard so much about Harold's 'man management' and 'motivational' genius (not quite so much lately) without seeing any evidence of it, that I don't want him to have a get out of jail card by blaming the players. Nows his chance - get rid of the ones he doesn't fancy, get his picks in, deliver promotion.

Sorry ABU but i have to blame Harold as well ... Hughes experiment went wrong of course but Harold didn't do anyone any favours talking about them and us and Him and us being QPR
His ego is massive ... I stand that we have very good talent at the club who maybe have been assembled in the wrong way and treated like superstars etc however they are very good footballers and need to be united ... IMO Hughes was getting there albeit very slowly with his Frankenstein approach of making a ready made football team. I would have Hughes coaching above Harold every time ... We now have Stephen in which i can now see is very wise ... afterall all Harold does is talk a good game.

We, the club got it all wrong and now we have to try another way. The bile on here is just disappointment after being promised the world ... well a great QPR IMO that can still happen but doesn't involve buying a new squad

100% correct with these players there is simply no excuse ... FFS we even have an ex England manager as a coach. We need to win and win quickly or we face total implosion IMO

6 games in and no wins in the championship .. how will the tune go? ... I can say already I won't be blaming the players we have at the club
