Stop picking on Daiscouser don't you know that there are 26 million people in the UK who support Liverpool? They're called taxpayers
Took the words right out of my mouth. And Dai .... He's leaving 'Pool because he's tired of BR's blarney, tired of being second fiddle to a geriatric SG, tired of being told to kick people (as in the Being Liverpool video), and wants to learn something from a Jedi master. He is not going to walk on to the bench of our upgraded squad never mind walk into the team. If he makes it, he will have earned it. But only a fool would take it for granted that the kid is going to make the team by just showing up. There are quite a few young, talented midfield players with international level experience in our squad, to make it he will have to show that he's got what it takes .... just as it should be.
so old jinx is a bit of an idiot then wasting £6 million for the poor guy to sit on the bench... yeh right..
This could turn out to be a piece of genius from Huw Jenkins. Get Shelvey in to learn from one of the best players ever to walk on a football field. He gets proper coaching from Michael Laudrup, fulfilling his potential and becomes a far better player. Then we could sell him back to those silly two hats for £25M
Nobody we have in midfield is guaranteed a place in the team or on the bench. They are all going to have to compete and perform to play and keep their place. The same goes for Ash. We now have real competition for center back - Monk / Tate and obviously Bartley were not considered viable alternatives last season. This season we have Ash, Chico and Amat - the pecking order is going to be up to the players' performance. ML is not going to give a damn what a player cost nor what they did last season. This season ML has options. At every position he has viable options. No coasting, no mailing it in, no attitudes, no fading out in the last quarter of the season.
I do like the strength of the squad were building covering a lot of positions. Now to get that bloody elusive striker!!!!!
This could end up being a great signing. He's young and obviously talented. 6m sounds a bit much but overall I think it's a gamble worth trying. It looks like a Huw signing rather than a Laudrup signing but hopefully he has the talent to be molded to play the Swansea way. He's definitely not an automatic starter but no one is this season and he has to fight for a spot just like the rest. Now could we get that 10m forward now please?
he is a good signing and the type of player we need. he could have gone to a number of clubs but chose us for first team football, a definite asset for us...Now another really good defender and a top striker and we will be right for the season.....
Exactly PGF, Dai 1 and Dai 2 need to talk to each other they are making Daiswan two ats look more stupid than normal !
The Shelvey interview at the Liberty. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=s7FPgN4xFN0&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Ds7FPgN4xFN0 Enjoy
Link didn't work and it would be pointless me posting a link from my phone as that probably won't work either. I just typed Shelvey Swansea in youtube and it was the first video. Sounds very much like Laudrup wants him at the club and he's not just a Jenkins signing as has been mentioned. I'm quite positive about him, I think it's a good signing
