"if they really want to piss Real off, when we sell him, sell him to Barca!!"

Strangely enough, I reckon Barca would be even more deadly with the likes of Bale.

If anyone saw the Nextgen game at WHL, Barca had a fast kid playing solely down
the left and ripping Spurs to pieces. So they can field such players without remotely
    compromising their core tikka-takka stuff.

And after the mauling by Munich, perhaps a bit of navel-gazing will convince them they
need more variation in their future game. And Bale would certainly give them that.

    "Messi ,Neymar,Bale,what a line up!!!!"

Would be utter blitzkrieg from CM as Neymar is no plodder.
For those so inclined, try that formation on FIFA13 etc and let us know what happens. :)

Neymar plays on the left so they would have no interest in Bale and considering his extortionate asking price they would say no no.

<doh> Bale barely plays on the left these days. The three of them interchanging across the top would be quite a sight.

I seem to remember Barca were keen on him a couple of years ago as a left-back but bought Alba instead... probably the right decision <whistle>

    "Neymar plays on the left"

    1. He was playing more or less entirely thru CM the night he ripped Spain a new one.
    2. Bale can also play on the right.

"Sandro Raniere opens the doors of Tottenham Hotspur for Paulinho. 'I'm here to help you.'"

If Bale goes to Barca, El Classico gets a lot more interesting.

Besiktas have made an offer for Adebayor, according to one of their board members Ahmet Kavalci.

I'd like Ade to stay as I think he has more to him than he's shown us, though if getting rid frees up some wages for NEW STRIKER then perhaps it's for the best.

I don't want is to sell Adebayor or Defoe until we have nailed on replacements that will be a step forward. Adebayor is only 29 supposedly at the peak of his career and I still carry hope that the Chelsea performance last season shows he still has it. If Adebayor is on his game there isn't any better striker we could realistically expect to see at Spurs (I'll believe it when I see it if Villa comes to to us!) and for me it's worth keeping him another season at least.

He has plenty about him at contract renewal time, that's about it. He is either brilliant or garbage and he's not often brilliant. If we can recoup most of our dough we should cut him loose.

    Totally agree chirpy.
He's only good when he wants to be, and it suits him. That isn't good enough for us, I'm afraid.

I expect we'll have Villa nailed on before we let Ade go, then I expect Ade will be replaced with someone young who has the potential.

I read an interesting theory on twitter last night between a few people, in that they believe levy was in on this whole "bale to Madrid" crap as part of our "partnership".

Some think it was instigated by Perez and Levy to help Madrid save face over losing out on Neymar, but they were never actually in for Bale at all.

Maybe there's much more to this than we have even considered and something else is going on behind the scenes.

We've often questioned what we actually get out of this "partnership".

Also, It would explain why levy has done nothing about making a formal complain over "tapping up". It's one of the worst cases football has ever seen, and dont forget, he was quick to come down on Chelsea like a ton of bricks over modric!

The main problem with that theory is that they'll lose even more face over Bale, assuming that they don't sign him this summer, Roo.
Barca got who they were after very early on and Madrid appear to have failed miserably to get their man, despite talks of a record bid.

Reporting Real for tapping up would be pointless and I think Levy knows that. We've reported a few other clubs and nothings happened, so it's just a waste of time.
When we'd be dealing with an organisation run by Blatter, then it's even worse:

If Man Utd couldn't get them for tapping up Ronaldo, then we've got no chance.

  19. Roo - he has been with us for less than a couple of seasons. Was brilliant through 2011/12, scored at a decent rate and contributed massively across the park - and his attitude was spot on.
Last season was totally disrupted by injury, suspension, the ACN and most importantly I think, Citehs deliberate prevarication in letting him sign before the season had started. A bad few months I agree, but it seemed that the attitude was still pretty good and he seems to be popular among the players.

On that basis, I reckon he will be worth retaining. On his game, he is a damn good striker - one of the best around - and at 29 still has time on his side. Personally would prefer that we offload JD if we are definitely getting Villa in. Worse case scenario is that the club review the situation in December.

don't agree,i would rather keep JD.Ade might be a good striker, although i,ve never rated him,but he rarely shows it,JD tries all the game, were as Ade wanders aimlessly around
