What surprises me though Jimmy is that people are surprised that the British media is biased, corrupt and racist. Liverpool as a city not just the football club has been a target for the right wing fascist journos for 40 years. It's nothing new mate. The fact still remains though that it's a bit rich for Suarez (or any of us) to blame them for his situation. They never forced him to dive and roll around like a cheat, they never forced him to bite someone either and they aren't "forcing" him out of the country. He has a long, very well paid contract (and he's had amazing support from his own fans) so if he feels so hard done by why doesn't he stay and prove them all wrong? If that's what he really wants then there's no reason he can't do exactly that. As much as I'd love to blame the scumbag hacks for all this I just can't. The lad's brought the majority of it on himself.
This! Before the bite he was slowly starting to win some support - he was just getting on with his job, wasn't diving all over the place every game and some of the better pundits were saying "It should be Luis Suarez" when asked who should win POTY. Then he completely ****ed everything up again - and for good imo, unforgivable to everyone else now as he has had too many controversial incidents.
I think that's the most frustrating thing for me as well. He'd managed to keep his head down and was doing what he got paid for and shutting up those hacks who we all know have an agenda. Then he goes and does something SO stupid that he effectively proved those same hacks point for them. He made them look like they were right all along.
My point, in connection with that non-penalty at Norwich, is that even if Luis was a hybrid of Ian Brady, Osama Bin Laden and Adolf Hitler he still has the right for an even quarter-competent referee to have given that completely undeniable penalty. "His reputation has preceded him", opined the blert of a commentator. And that is the point - who gave the media and "public opinion" the wherewithal to change the rules of the game on the hoof, simply because of a "reputation"? As it happens, I posted after the Chelsea game that it was all over for Luis (he'd have only stayed another season without CL football anyway), because it can't be denied that the biggest dynamic of this situation is that Luis can't control his behaviour: but it ISN'T right that because of that he should be declared a sort of outlaw, unprotected by the laws of the game and its officials and harassed and hounded by grossly disproportionate punishments from its ruling body in attempts to curry favour with a rabidly xenophobic, racist anti-Scouse media that still hasn't forgiven us for not going away and being quiet after Hillsborough. So even when Luis goes I forsee a campaign against Aspas or whoever from our squad to fill the vacuum in the public appetite, which is why I say AGAIN about banning all media except the BBC and the Echo from Anfield. It won't go away just because Luis leaves, wait and see.
Of course it won't go away DD it's ever been thus....so what do we do? We fight the system when needed right? We don't just run away. Suarez could have hurt them by taking LFC forward. He could have taken stock, got his head down and shoved it all back down their scummy throats....instead he took peoples loyalty (Kennys most of all but also the fans) and shoved it where the sun don't shine. The lad's not a demon but he is a total pillock. Ps. I'm not sure Brady, Hitler or Osama have the right to a quarter competent referee
my opinion is that in the immediate aftermath of suarez going LFC will get a bit of media love which will be feigned and the minute LFc are not top of the league or someone even commits a foul they will go over the top is the stories again. Its the usual thing to prove themselves right they will all be on about poor lfc and how abused they were etc etc but they will return to type.....
A Spurs mate on facebook just posted this link (with a few similes, he seems happy). Wouldn't read this s*it rags stories usually but thought it worth a post. Real have said that Bale is not a viable target this window so am wondering if it changes anything re Suarez, could be the usual - too and frowing - brinksmanship type bollocks, or dreamed up paper story, but anyhow. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...ay-at-Spurs-as-Real-Madrid-give-up-chase.html
LFC have said we will only consider offers of £45m plus AND if Luis hands in a transfer request. Glad to see the club staying strong.
Suggesting he doesn't have a £40mill release clause....in which case we should be asking for more than we got for Torres surely.
I think there is a clause that we have to consider bids of £40m but it doesn't mean we have to accept it. Sounds like a stupid clause because it doesn't achieve anything. The Echo reported a while ago that we would only accept a record transfer fee (i.e. over £50m). Today, they said £45m plus ...
It won't happen mate, whilst Arsenal are slightly better than us atm, they aren't winning trophies. Real Madrid or Arsena,? It isn't a tough choice mate. I'm hoping he'll stay for another season anyway, rack up a few more goals, hopefully bite no one which will hopefully increase his price if he were to go the season after.
Agree with you it is not going to happen. Even if Arsenal are willing to pay the selling price, Suarez would not feel comfortable playing his football in London with Chelsea in mind. One thing mate, you forgot to give him a squad number.
Especially as he wants out of the PL, if rumours are going round that they're interested in Rooney and are willing to pay 20M for him then they'll need to offer A LOT more than 20M for Suarez for us to even consider it, as a matter of fact if Suarez would be wiki g to go there then Arsenal would have to beat everything that Real Madrid offer because I don't see Real Madrid giving in easily, and they're loaded too (RM that is) so they should be offering 45m + anyway!
