    I think it's safe to say that the Morgan rumour is a load of rubbish. It was started by an "ITK agent on twitter": that should instantly alert people to the fact that it's rubbish.

    However, in reality, if we were to get an offer of £20m for him (from anyone), I think Cortese would have to seriously consider that.

    Why? We have been linked to players of a similar value so why sell one player who already has the rapport with the fans to spend the same figure on a player who may not fit the Southampton way? Even £30 million would not make me sell him if I was in charge.

    Agree. Much of the transfer market is about momentum. Whatever the sum, selling one of our best players would signal we are still a selling club and reduce further our chances of signing the players we are after.

    Does anyone think his limited appearances in Turkey could have anything to do with minimizing the potential for injury with a big money move looming? Seems strange he's got so little game time as the cameo appearance I saw him in made him look like one of their better players?

    Shelvey has completed his move to Swansea. Rogers did say that he would not **** Swansea by buying all thier best players, he said nothing about selling them his worst players though. <whistle>
