So Shelvey is off. Our second major(ish) exit of the summer. He has joined Swansea City for £5m, rising to £6m with add ons.

Last season started so well for Shelvey but it all just slipped away. He scored a few good goals for us, but his tackling will always be a cringable memory.

Fair well Jonjo. All the best for the future.

Nothing against Shelvey, good player on his day who could still develop further and I hope he does so. Good lad and wish him well <ok>

Good luck to him. He seems to have talent but maybe not the attitude, we made a nice little profit on him thanks to Rafa signing him for peanuts.

At one point he looked like he was heading for great things, but rashness and a lack of concentration let him down.
Still, he's got time to work on those things and develop so good luck to the lad.

Laudrup could be a good mentor for Shelvey.

I cant see Laudrup lasting long there. Top young manager that will be snapped up by someone.

Good luck to him, but I never liked or rated him.

Too slow, no skill or technique and (as mentioned) couldn't tackle. But what made it even worse was his Twitter rants over not being in the first team or starting games. No where near as good as he thought he was.

Glad to be rid of him.

Too good for championship but not good enough for upper half of premiership. Surprised Swansea bought him thought he oils be more suited to west ham or Norwich. Anyway good luck to him but not sorry to see him go

Well the talk down here is that the fee for shelvey was the balance owing from the Allen transfer 6 million, our chairman has got to stop smoking whatever he is smoking

Didn't have the head to play at the level we hope to be at, for me. But a nice deal for us in the end. Do think he has room to improve, just not at LFC. Glad we got rid but with no real ill will.

While I'm glad we got rid, he is a very good young player and will develop well at Swansea. He seemed to truly love wearing the shirt and was quite passionate (though that's one reason I'm glad he left, his over-exuberance cost us many a point).

I'll miss seeing the reflectors' bright lights shining off of his bald head, but there is a sense of relief that he's gone.

Little Joe will come good for you, if not we will take him back (for a discount :))

Find the Shelvey deal strange as in a system similar to ours, he seemed wasteful in posession at times...or was that just the games I watched?

Also concerned by the few advising of a Primadonna tendency. Am I wrong to be concerned?

He's had chances and not taken them but does have some potential. Wish him luck but i cannot see how his awful touch will fit into the quick passing swansea. Same problem different team. Worth a punt if you're swansea I guess.

Very wasteful in posession. He doesn't have much of a first touch/fine touch for passing, but his pure energy has carried us forward at times. Most of his weaknesses stem from his poor decision-making. Yeah he's got a bit of an ego, thinks he's the best player on the pitch when he's far from it. A few years ago when he was in his debut season (or close) he tried to chip United's goalkeeper from the halfway line instead of looking for a proper pass. He looked up afterwards, as the ball skyrocketed, with a ****-eating grin on his face. We were losing that match, and that sticks out for me as what his problem has always been.

However that being said, he's quite clearly talented as he's made it this far. There's something about him that's refreshing but there's also a bit of doubt at times. He's not a Zidane but he's definitely got the physical aspect of the game learned and ready.

  20. I had high expectations of the lad last summer but he just didn't cut it in the league. Best outcome for both parties IMO. All the best to the lad, hope he makes a good career for himself <ok>
