A quaint slant on our teams abject performances over the past three games....if we blow promotion after being in an ALMOST unassailable position only two weeks ago, then the 'reputed' returns of £120 million that the team have cost Hull City pale the Duffen / Bartlett / Brown debacle into near insignificance (apart from us not being on the 'brink' this time). All will be forgiven next Saturday should we ride the storm , one way or another, and get promotion, but if we don't I shall feel devastated for the fans of this great club, SB, some of the team but most of all the Allams who saved our bacon. Hope SB borrowed SAFs hairdryer yesterday teatime, we need a massive bounce back next Saturday.
Interview with Duffen tonight on radio humberside 6 til 7. It will be interesting to hear what he has to say.
He talks about the sale of Turner - The Bullard saga and where the money went for starters ....according to Duffen that is. I would like to think that he will be asked to justify the wages and deals given to Messrs. Halmosi - McShane - Olifinjana - Gardner - Cousin - Kilbane - Ghilas without a doubt. Not one of them were anywhere near value for money.
I believe Duffen has been quizzed about those things in public before and explained them, reason being clubs, players and agents expect a lot more off premiership clubs and you have to pay the going rate. I may be wrong. The Ghilas one is a potentially interesting one though with rumours he was offered to AP at Derby for tuppence at the same time we paid 7 figures for him.
