So we agree that prior to the 1906 HMS Dreadnought, 5 ships had carried the same name. The first two were not "HMS", the submarine was post, and then there is the ship herself. Sorry but I can't help being a pedant, it goes with the job.
OK now that is pedantry of the highest order...you are discounting my two Tudor Dreadnoughts (the only two I knew actually!!) because they were called Dreadnought and not HMS Dreadnought!!
