I thought he would tbh. I bet most Chelsea fans thought he wouldnt be here 10 years on.

The video gives a reason why though and it makes sense.

I remember thinking 'wait and see'. We didn't know anything about him remember, however people have been using the same line since 2004.

You said Chelsea had been more successful than United during Roman's time in charge.

11 trophies to our 10 apparently.

    This is clearly nonsense.

Firstly, we've won 11 trophies not 10 or are you not including the Club World Championship? You rate the league cup and the Europa League over the Club World Championship? Granted it's not the trophy teams set out to win at the start of the season but neither are the league cup or the Europa League, which Chelsea didn't even plan on being in last season. No doubt you would have included the CWCt had Chelsea managed to win it. Or are we on 10 trophies because you still think City won the league last season as you posted earlier in this thread?

Secondly, whether you want to admit it or not you are ranking all trophies as the same in order to try and present Chelsea's last ten years as more successful than United's. Let's take the last 7 years. United have won 5 league titles, 2 league Cups, a CL and a Club World Championship (9 trophies). You've won 1 league title, 4 FA Cups, 1 league Cup, a CL and the Europa League (8 trophies). In your world, 1 more league cup and Chelsea would have had just as successful a 7 years as United which is obviously ludicrous.

Thirdly, I refer to firstly and secondly.

OK, I'll explain. You're a clown for even suggesting that Roman has built a dynasty. He's spent billions of pounds on a club that is still failing to keep up with, let alone overtake, the dominant team in English football and in the last two seasons hasn't even put in a half decent challenge for the title. Dynasty my arse. Sir Alex built a dynasty. Roman has bought some trophies but far fewer than he probably anticipated based on his investment.

Correct, because we have. More being the key word NOF. Still doesn't mean I compared the two though.

Why are you now twisting it to suit United? The topic is to do with the 10 years RA has been at Chelsea, in those 10 years we have won 11 major trophies and you have won 10.

The World Club Championship is not a major trophy, the Europa League is even though it's a lot less significant than the Champions League and the League, it's still a major trophy with a big reputation, perhaps you're far too arrogant to think so, I don't know.

We have won two League cups, United have won 3. Why would I glorify something you have been better than us in?

You have been better League wise, but you've won two more titles than us, which like I said originally, is hardly the landslide you probably like to think it is.

Why are United the keystone of all importance? It's a different circumstance. You're right, Fergie did build a dynasty and it's more of an achievement than the one Roman has built, however there is no denying he's turned us into one of the biggest clubs in the world, however it may have been carried out or whether you agree with the method.

As Swarbs said previously, few years ago United weren't putting up much of a challenge against us, two seasons away from challenging isn't the end of the world, I'd give it a few years before making that call.

The europa league and league cup are not major trophies.

    Major refers to 'primary' competitions.

Thats Premier League, Champions League and the FA Cup

Nah the Europa League is a secondary competition. For me that means its not major.

The suggestion that the Europa League is somehow a greater honour/trophy than the CWC is quite frankly laughable. The CWC is basically a shoot out between the winners of the Copa America and the CL. The Europa League is a long drawn out competition made up of teams that weren't good enough to get into or stay in the CL. Many of the teams competing in it can't wait to exit as the extra fixtures hamper their league ambitions. You're clutching at straws on this one Drogs.

Even setting aside the CWC, to suggest that Chelsea have been more successful than United over the past ten years is also laughable. Why do you Chelsea fans work so hard to try and convince everyone that you're now one of the great clubs, no one with any knowledge of the game before Roman bought into it is ever going to agree?!

You know that you're trying to twist things to big up Chelsea and you'd soil yourself at the chance to swap 2 more league titles for a couple of league cups and a couple of FA Cups. I don't know a United fan who would give up those league titles for those cups. You'd also swap a league cup or the Europa league for the CWC as you could then claim to be the best team in the world without having to resort to relying on engineered and nonsensical stats and coefficients (or that Hazard is the most valuable player in the PL, loved that one by the resident simpleton!).

    1) We're going to have to agree to disagree, for me it's about the reputation of the competition. The only team that takes the Club World Championship with the passion it probably should require is usually the Brazillian team. It's their chance to pit themselves against the winners of the biggest competition on the planet. English teams are usually the only ones who don't take it seriously/look for early exits by the way, rest of Europe don't.

    2) It's nothing to do with convincing ourselves, what do you class as the criteria for a big club?

    3) Finally, don't tell me what my opinions are. Despite your best accusations, I was a fan before Roman. Chelsea are my local side and as a kid I grew up watching some utter dross at SB. It's probably what makes me appreciate cup finals a lot more than most United fans do and I always have an amazing time no matter what the result. Call it small club mentality, I don't really care, but winning the League doesn't give quite the same feeling in my opinion as it's drawn out over a season. Unless of course you win it like City did in 2012! So no, I wouldn't swap what we've won during Roman's tenure for what you have. Prestige-wise titles are greater yes but I'm quite content with what's happened.

p.s. why don't you lot take those threads with a pinch of salt? He's trying to get a rise, I honestly don't know how people don't see that.

and don't get me wrong, winning the League is also an amazing feeling, in 2005 I can't describe my reaction to Lampard's brace at Bolton, but that was because it was the first time seeing Chelsea win it. It's different to a cup final day though. Especially an FA Cup/CL final day!

I know he's trying to get a rise and whilst he and his disciples think he's got a "bite" when someone takes the piss out of him he's actually being mocked for being sad enough to even waste time trying to get a rise in the first place. He also doesn't react very well to being mocked and goes into "here fishy, fishy you're just bitter" defence mode.

I always assumed he was a bored kid/student but apparently he's a fair bit older than that!

That while you swagger around insisting that you're a big club you've won fewer league titles than Sunderland, fewer FA Cups than Spurs and fewer European Cups than Nottingham Forest?

    All of which is funny.
