I quite like RIVER D'OR 14-1 2.20 Worcester tomorrow. Racing off a mark that he really should be winning off. It's a competitive little race though so I wont be going overboard!

    Agree entirely.

Anyone with a decent EW bet on Murray should also consider a little each way saver on Jerzy Jancowicz at 22-1. He is the only thing in the Scotsman way to the Final imo.

I have a very decent lump on Murray. Just can't see him losing though. Usually I'd lay a bit off but I'm ultra confident of a place at least

An ew fancy at Worcs tomorrow, Benbane Head @ 20s in the competitive 5.20 handicap hurdle. Down in grade and trip this fella has a good record when there is firm in the going description - 3 wins from 4 outings. Also noted the 13 year old Hilltime entered earlier in the card. Don't fancy it but noted that this one has been off the track for a month short of 6 years! Good luck all with your investments and good luck to Hilltime, hope he enjoys his outing and comes back safe and sound.

I backed the Aussie last weekend to beat the Lions at a frankly ridiculous 13/8 and I'll be lumping on them to do it again at evens.

I'm disgusted by the team selection.

We took it to the bank Bob! The team selection is a joke this week.

Just one horse for me today. Our boy Jack in the 4.00 at catterick. Not the easiest of races to pick (not that any of them are) but really fancy him to go one better this time out and happy enough with 11/2.

    Good luck everyone.

Probably talking through my patriotism here but leaving O'Driscoll out of the match day squad for his last Lions game smacks of incredulity....only a few days ago talk was that he'd captain the side in Warburtons absence.. Should someone tell him that the Lions play in represent 4 nations and not the one that plays in red in the 6N...

Aussie team game plan should be fairly straightforward. If in doubt boot it out. Hibberd can't hit a cows arse with a banjo.

Hi - BOD has been an amazing player , captain and advert for all that is good in Rugby .. in his day .. and that day was over at least a year ago for both Ireland and now the Lions. The really disappointing thing here is not his being dropped - but that he was selected for the tour .. there are better , younger , fitter players that should have been blooded imo ... so lets not be disappointed at him not playing - it was going to happen at some point .. but remember him for all that he has contributed in yesteryear and now as he shows real team commitment to Roberts and Davies and supports them in what is a vital game for NH rugby credibility ....wrt picking the Welsh lads .. I guess they are just better than the current crop of alternatives ..... I for one would have gone further and played Tipuric as well - It wont be pretty on Saturday and may well come down to how well Halfpenny holds his kicking nerve and definitely how the ref interprets the breakdowns ... lets get behind Gatlands team - they are OUR Lions !!!!!

The injury to Warburton now highlights the absolute folly of leaving Robshaw at home even more starkly.

Bob - its good that we have different views that I hope we each respect ... BOD has been a fabulous - even world class player in his pomp - but that's long gone - his interpretation of the breakdown rules in the first test nearly got him sin-binned (remember the bust up he had with the ref - most unlike him !)... Like a great horse - it all comes to an end one day ... its just the realisation of the 'when' that makes that day a happy or sad event ... Imo BOD should have gone out on his shield before the tour .. but hey its refreshing to know that informed opinion can still inspire passionate debate ... without some of the heat we sometimes see on the forum ...

So lets get behind the Welsh team ... err Lions .. on Saturday ...fear nought , be brave for all will be well !!!<whistle>

I agree BOD should not have gone on tour and retired at the end of last season to go out at the top, so why select him and then play him in the first test, (ok there were injuries). Now that he's there, IMHO bringing BOD off the bench in he last 20 mins would have had more of an impact. The Lions style of play has been poor this tour and the backs have had limited time on the ball. Roberts made a total of FOUR yards in last weeks game which I think says it all. Can't connect with this Gatland team at all - they seem to be hanging on in there towards the end of games hoping to hold onto a slender lead rather than going out playing an attacking brand of rugby and putting the opposition away. Australia are the weakest of the tri-nations sides when it comes to Lions tours and only for a misfortunate slip when kicking that late penalty, the series would be over now. Hope the Lions do win on Sat but my money won't be going on them to do so...

Lets be honest, the Lions dodged a bullet in the first Test, but got hit in the 2nd... The fact that the Aussies are a much more mobile side than us just highlights the difference in Southern and Northern hemisphere rugby...

We can win the final Test on Saturday, but i fear that to do so, we need some help from the Aussies... But owt can happen in one off games, so you just never know...

Couldn't agree more. It's also a touch hard to comprehend leaving Tuilagi off the squad until the last test, not using Sebo at all and, as you rightly say, dropping BoD altogether. If there was a scenario where the Aussies were 5 points up wuith 20 minutes to go jhe would be the alst player they would wnat to see striding onto the pitch.

To blame BOD singularly for the breakdown issues in the first test is very unfair. That's a Northern v Southern interpretation issue not a BOD v's a referee issue.

Has anyone looked at any stats about Welsh teams success rates in beating Australian teams? I think it's been 12 games since they've managed to scrape a win.

Definition of insanity and all that...
