He reminds me a bit of Martins to be fair (not just because he's Nigerian). He's very quick which is what we need but he's a bit erratic too. Can score a worldy out of nowhere but also likely to miss a sitter.

I wouldn't be disappointed if we got him, but he plays a bit like a 20/21 year old when he's actually 24 so not sure how much he'd progress.

Well **** that then. I can't take watching another lazy selfish bastard with a distinct lack of footballing ability. Oba is one of the most overrated players in our history on the basis of a few worldies and a good celebration.

You wouldn't believe the number of our fans who rated Oba! I have been stunned on these boards, the old 606 and just talking to our fans in general. "Oba was a consistent goalscorer" "Oba was a 20 goal a season man" "Oba was good for us" etc etc. I often think, was I watching a completely different player?

I liked Oba for the sheer unpredictability factor - - kind of like Lua Lua. The fact that the majority of the unpredictable moments were dog ****e never quite eliminated the thrill of whether the next time he touched the ball might be jaw dropping.

Not that good a player but always inteeresting

According to twitter, Skysports have said we are talking with QPR about signing Remy. Providing he isn't guilty, he'd be a great signing.

That was a cracking goal against Spurs mind.

Got off the coach home at the Washington Services and walked home in a great mood that night.

I would prefer him to Bent tbh. Just get someone in with talent. If I hear 'We couldn't get it over the line...' again I will die of an aneurysm on the spot.

I'm half expecting us to not sign a striker and hear Pardew say 'Its Campbell time now!' which I called all the way back in mid May. The lad isn't ready yet and even then he better have some serious pace because with his size he will be knocked all over the ****ing place.

We will know from our first signing how next season will go. All the other teams around us, bar one or two, have strengthened. We need some quality in, if we sign three bottom feeders and sell Cabaye and/or Ben Arfa we will be ****ed by Christmas. That is not pessimism but the truth imo

I've heard this rumour. Would be a good signing but it would be typical when we sign him and then he goes to jail for 3 years.

But to be fair, he was pretty good for a 57 year old playing in the Prem.

Used to see him on Northumberland Street quite a lot, him and Bassong seemed to buy a lot of DVD's and CD's at HMV.
