Difference is the reports are all coming from barcelona. So far his dad, the Barcelona assistant manager and Barcelonas mouth pieces have all stated he is going to end up at United. Its not like its the daily mail, they were very late to the party as were the rest of the english press.
What I don't get is why they always say in the media that English players are expensive yet they reckon Rooney is only worth 25m we sold becks for a similar amount. I will be annoyed if that's all we get for him. Surely he is worth 30+ ?
It all depends on whether he wants to leave, and how much we want to keep him. If we were desperate to keep him as he was our only good player then we'd be holding out for £30-40m, like Liverpool with Suarez. But if he wants to leave and is likely to disrupt the dressing room then we are probably better off letting him go for around £25m, as we aren't completely dependent on him and a settled dressing room is more important for a club challenging for the title than a few extra quid in the bank.
