Hooper and Austin deals appear back on again it has been revealed today in the hdm. Was it ever off i ask ? Interesting to also read elsewhere that Owen Coyle has reacted to Wigan striker Arouna Kona saying that he wants to leave play for Everton. Coyle says ""if a player wants to leave then why bother trying to keep them - get rid."" Now have Burnley and Celtic finally given up on likewise ?
Nope. But if the chance comes to get both he will. In saying that Austin is the priority as Hooper is being greedy re.wages
In other words, "I haven't read the paper - I don't need to, because I know better". (To save you the effort, the paper reports: "But with City stressing to both Celtic and Burnley that they are only prepared to push one of the two deals to conclusion, they hope to swing the hand of power their way.")
I'm not sure that just because the HDM says we only want one that it's definitely true. I can't see us being able to get Hooper anyway so it probably won't matter.
It'll be Austin coming in this week I'd have thought. Apparently our bid has been accepted and talks will commence (I assume they already have) according to Yorkshire Radio.
Why do we need both? Aluko is easily good enough. So long as him and whichever we get stay fit for the most part, I'd say we only need one or the other.
Will be interesting to see how the team sets up, whether it is Austin or Hooper, will SB get another striker on loan to play along side? If so I guess it could then come down to Aluko or Boyd playing in the hole.
and what's the chance of that happening? a little reminder of our best strikers fortunes last season.. Fryatt - injured Aluko - injured Gedo - injured
