We're in 4 competitions each season, that's how Wellbeck will get many games. We've already paid off the PIK loan, it happened last year.
If he leaves he leaves. The other 4 can make up the difference. Berbatov says he wants to stay despite the media claiming that he is a gonner. Same thing was happening with michael Owen yesterday. And yeah as said above 4 competitions for Welbeck.
Nice to see him sign a new deal. As for Berba, looks like he's ont his way out. Hopefully Welbeck, rooney and hernandez prove good enough>>
Yes but we have no clue how. Seeing as they could have just taken another loan out and have now moved it to dellaware we wilnever know. What do you think they found 200 million behind their sofa or something?
TheStrettyEnd The Glazers may have fooled some people but not everyone. There is a reason they have moved it to Dellaware because all they have done now is take out another loan to pay off the other. I am just waiting for the time they take 50-100m to pay that off.
i give it 2 weeks before fergie and gill are saying their usual "no value in the market" line again...
viva-rio I am sure they have a slightly innovated line this time. Maybe something like: Cleverly and Welbeck and Kiko are the future and if we sign any players we could inhibit our future and theirs. The value of the market is not as bad but the value of these players is irreplaceable and we can't take any chances.
Jip Jaap Stam Quite simple: Owen stays which forces Berbatov out and Welbeck comes in and that weakens our strike force. With Owen staying, there is no way we will buy a new striker and Ferguson has said he will get more games. Welbeck is coming back and that is 4 strikers just there. That is weaker and hugely damaging for the new season. Gloss it all over you like
Or maybe they used some of the £400 million they borrowed from their shopping mall businesses? After all, they wouldn't be the first businessmen to asset strip a poorly performing business to secure a superbly performing one. How do you think Abramovich made all his money?
After Barcelona hammered us Fergie admitted there was a gap between us and them and he would have a 'busy' summer recruiting to make up the difference. Now, seeing as it was our midfield that was so completely and utterly over ran and we all accept that our defence and striking options are solid, that suggests to me that Fergie WILL address the central midfield department. No amount of juvenile ranting in pig **** English will convince me otherwise, it is one week since the season ended for ****'s sake. What did you expect, five new signings by now? TRY to relax and enjoy the summer, I am convinced we will sign at least two at CM and those who are in the squad will have to fight for positions, which is good. Resigning Michael Owen is good, not bad. He's free, experienced, a great finisher and, hopefully, fit and so the money can be spent elsewhere.
Rusholme Ruffian So next season we will have 7/8 center mids? Carrick, Fletcher, Gibson, Anderson, Cleverly and Giggs now and 2 others. That is insane and I believe you should be realistic.
That's insane? TWO have just left, we'll have the same amount if we sign two. Cleverly will come back and have to fight for a spot and will be used in the CC and FA Cup, Gibson will only play if proven good enough. Do you honestly think that what he meant to counter Barcelona was give Gibson more games? THAT is insane.
What the **** are people going on about? Who the f has moaned that 5 players havent been signed? No one. People are complaining because a completely useless player who wasnt good enough anymore to be signed in the first place has been signed up again. Nothing to do with transfers. Its about not clearing out the rubbish.
Delaware isn't just secretive, it's one of the only tax havens the US and UK aren't clamping down on. We're currently making regular annual losses cos of the goodwill write offs associated with the purchase, but that will end in the next few years, and then the Glazers will obviously want to pay as little tax as possible. I'm not saying that must be why they've done it, but it is one potential reason. @Viva, I think our success over the past couple decades has been completely independent of the owners. The plc were notoriously unwilling to let us spend money on proven players - we missed out on Shearer twice because of them and almost lost Keano. We may not have as much financial power relative to clubs like Chelsea, Real and Barca, but at least under the Glazers we can react quickly when a player is available and other clubs are chasing them.
