Stuff like this gets on my tits.

Everyone knows he wouldn't stay 3 miles. Everyone knows he wouldn't get close to Sprinter over 2 miles. That's with a fully fit horse. How on Earth would he be competitive if they knew he was ill since Christmas? Were they just milking him for a bit of decent place money and to lay him on the exchanges?

You can't geld the Leger winner. Think of his stud value.

    Oh hang on.

What a load of cak from his connections. When He was winning egg and spoon races there was no mention that there was something amiss,as soon as he steps up in company and is firmly put in his place, he was suddenly an ill horse. They simply cannot accept that there horse isnt as good as they hoped he would be......but if he was genuinely ill i hope the RSPCA move in and close down Casey's operation.

Just excuses in my opinion. If he was that sick they wouldn't of risked him.

I agree almost entirely with your sentiments Bob. The only thing that's not clear cut for me is the whether he stays 3 miles query. In my opinion they've employed the wrong tactics when he was sent over the longer trip. He's a bold jumping front runner so virtually pulling him up every time he hits the front just pisses him off. As you say though complete cowboy outfit.

Wow, i take back my little tongue in cheek 1st reply Bob...

But reading the comments underneath there is only one comment regarding the health and condition of the horse... Maybe not all of the posts are being shown, but you see a very different reaction from the members of this forum compared to those comments on the Racing Post... The welfare of the horse should come first...!!!

Valid point Red and absolutely agree that horse welfare comes first every time. I didn't comment on it because I don't believe a word of it. In short it's utter bollocks. I really like Flemenstar and really want him to deliver on his obvious talent. However even as a fan to be asked to accept that he finished 1/2 length behind the eventual Aintree Bowl winner, and finish in front and then 1 and half lengths behind the eventual GC runner up, whilst employing questionable race tactics (only my opinion), over a trip he doesn't stay (most other folks opinion) and all while sick is stretching credibility to the absolute limit. If it is true then they all need to watch out next year.

I hope that the next time he runs he is declared fit and well before the race. If he has been running top races when ill there's no telling what lasting effects those runs have had.

Chaninbar, nothing would be better than seeing Flemenstar jumping his way around to a big win, it's something the people of the forum have been tipping up for a while now. Oddy was the one of the first who was championing his credentials, and rightly so when you watched him. So your probably right with what you say, if he is 100% fir for his break and over this 'illness' then the rest had better watch out...

Fingers crossed really as we all like to see the best horses giving there all at the big meetings... Its what we love in the first place isnt it...<ok>

My ante post Cheltenham bets are going great - Go Native dead, Big Bucks out for the season. Wouldn't be surprised to wake up on Christmas Day to find Peter Casey has shagged Flemenstar to death'

    Surely not.
