    Morning Troops,

That came out of the blue didn't it!!! We snatched away Luke Murphy from under the noses of Blackburn Rovers for a sum in excess of 1m. Is this a taste of things to come? Does this mean we are about to lose Byram?

Murphy, who will be handed the number 6 shirt said 'the size and tradition of Leeds United was the deciding factor in his choice'. There you go Millwall lads. I told you size does matter...

Crewe, just like Leeds have a reputation for bringing youngsters through their youth ranks. In any case I would trust McDermott's opinion. He told the OS that Murphy was probably the best player in the division last year.

I have to admit, over the last 8 years, I have become very disillusioned at the lack of young talent joining the club. Not just because we couldn't afford them, but they simply did not want to join us. No ambition, no drive, no direction. I really hope this is the start of things to come, and we spend at least another million on a decent player, please let it be a pacy winger...

What was better news yesterday? Captain Birdeye leaving or our new signing?

McDermott has confirmed that a third signing should arrive on Thursday. This is expected to be Noel Hunt.

I have taken the liberty in checking our odds for promotion which (today) on average seem to be 5/1. Just to put that in perspective Millwall are 20/1

Just for a bit of fun, name as many journey men who, at the end of their careers joined Leeds. I'll start

    Tore André Flo
    Mark Hateley
    Paul Dickov

Morning all. And just to add to the excitement, Haigh confirmed they are finalising a deal and big announcement due shortly. I've a feeling this could top the murphy one by a bit. As for Birdseye, consigned to the scrap heap with risdale

Morning all. Not sure which is better; signing Murphy or all the whingers on another site having to stuff their faces with humble pie. Shows we need to relax and be a bit more patient. Doesn't necessarily mean that Murphy will be an instant success or that we won't have to sell Byram to help pay for it. But its a huge step in the right direction.

As for journeymen, I've got a crap memory. So I'll settle for half of Larry's older signings and one or three of Warnock's from last season..... EXCLUDING BROWN who will still do a job for us this season!!!

Morning!! Great news with the Murphy signing, positive step. Now, apparently Leeds have REJECTED an approach from QPR for McCormack thought to be in the region of £3.2m!! Well, they released Cisse so need a striker, and he was on £72k p/w which means they have dosh to throw about. Let's see how determined they are. At least it's not Harvey calling the shots, with him QPR would have offered £3m and he would have said they could have the player for £600k the muppet. Journeyman end of career? Brown!!

Morning all <ok> Too many false dawns for me over these last 8-years, I feel a kick in the arse coming on. That could be Byram on his way out to fund these signings??? GFH have told us and BMD that we have no money and if Brian wants his targets he will have to fund it himself. So although yesterday was great all round with Bates, Harvey fooked off and a million quid spent on a player, lets calm it down a bit as we bought someone from L1 again not La Liga

I hope so Leeds60, if we do get the 4 or 5 new players it'll be just like Wilkos time when he brought in 7 or more players, Vinnie being one of my favourites. Early days I know and only 2 in so far, but hopefully this is the start of a new era....<ale>

    Morning all by the way.

Morning all, a good day yesterday, the signing of Murphy has at least shut the moaners up for a day or two, I can't wait to find out what this next big announcement is, I hope Barry Fry shuts his gob now !!!, if we can add 3 or 4 more quality players to the squad we can all look forward to a good season.
On another note if Morrison ever comes back to us I hope the im not lazy t-shirt doesn't come back to haunt him !!.

McDermott's said he does need to balance the books/squad, but hopefully that'll just mean selling off those we don't need, like Pugh/Brown/Norris/Varney/White, and getting their wages off the wage bill. We are looking a bit overloaded in central midfield right now!

WACCOE now running with the QPR bid for McCormack story, so if we rejected £3.2m what does that say? Apparently cash injection was £4.2m with more to come. I feel dizzy..........

    Morning.

I reckon the Captain being left ashore was the most important thing from yesterday. Hopefully a line drawn in the sand and he won't be too much of a parasitic headache for the new crew of the good ship Leeds United.

I'd see that as slightly more important than the signing as it would probably have not happened had the changes not taken place however both were brilliantly welcome and much needed events.

Just have to hope that if we have recieved new investment it's from external sources (or GFH themselves) and not a certain white bearded bloke who recently came into possesion of a big pile of cash.

Even if we have to sell Byram or McCormack to fund transfers, it might be one step back but BMD seems a better bet to use it to move 2 steps forward. That's all I think I can muster myself to hope for, some forward momentum to finally get us out of the doldrums.

    Morning all <ok>

Still feeling all awash with optimism after yesterday. It's a tough call for me on what was the better news, as they both symbolise a leap forward that we haven't taken in 8 years. For me though, Ken leaving is not only great for us, but ending our association with him as chairman gets a monkey off our back in the eyes of other clubs too.

If all of this about rejecting a 3.2m bid for Rosco is true, then that just makes me even more hopeful that this next big announcement is some more investment...

QPR have agreed £12m fee to sell Samba and his £100k p/w wages back to Anzhi, so if they really want Ross then we can push the price up ... if McD wants to sell of course!! He did have a lot of positives to say about Ross working hard, great attitude, extra training and so on ... putting him in shop window? I'm still waiting to wake up and find its April 1st with all this good news!! Come on Leeds!!!!

This Samba transfer has to be one of the most ridiculous I can remember. Redknapp should have been fired on the spot for making such an irresponsible deal in the first place considering where QPR were at the time.

I still can't quite believe that we are even discussing the idea that we can inflate the price of selling one of our top players (should we want to) after already allegedly rejecting a 3.2m deal. Is this still Leeds we are talking about?! Why didn't we sell him for a pack of beer and some cigs <laugh><laugh>

If we've got more new signings to come, great. If we can hang on to McCormack AND Byram, even better. Fingers crossed.

To be fair, if Redknapp had kept them up people would've been praising his judgement. He and his board took a big risk, and it backfired.

I people may have done yeah, but QPR couldn't have sustained his wages along with others like Remy even if they remained as a prem team. I know that's more to do with Fernandes than Redknapp though. In any case, we all know far to well what happens when you take risks outside of your means!
