One of these days I will eventually read what was said on this thread Edit: Just did.......wow is that it? was wondering what happend with all the red bars.
Quick summary: Yay Hamilton!!! Booo Pirelli! YIKES Pirelli!!! HOLY **** Pirelli!!! Erm.... Did Vettel really just breakdown while leading??? Much rejoicing!!! 7 laps of Banzai wahey time. British are bastards.
Can someone explain why it's surprising Vettel having bad luck? I seem to remember it's his team-mate who's had an indestructable car for 4 seasons whereas Vettel has broken down probably as much as Hamilton.
I think It's because fans of most British drivers seem to spend 90% of our time ruing awful luck and we'd like somebody else to share it.
In terms of retiring from the lead of grands prix Vettel has to be one of the unluckiest, along with Hamilton and Raikkonen.
Well, that was a gripping race! Not read the thread yet, but I think the type of racing we see at Silverstone speaks massive volumes for the circuit. DRS certainly played its part, but there were loads of exciting, very genuine battles going on. It's a shame when anyone suffers misfortune, and there were too many with rightful claim to it; but looking at the bigger picture, it was an enormously entertaining race!
Someone on Autosport has compiled some statistics on this: http://forums.autosport.com/index.php?showtopic=187793&st=0 Raikkonen's properly wrecked his 2005 season. He had 3 ten place grid penalties for engine changes that year as well.
so the truth is Vettel is the unluckiest driver of the last ten years, he's even better than I thought, seems he's so good he even can win WDC's with bad luck.
Incidentally, also a car designed by Adrian Newey, famous for designing ridiculously quick yet unreliable cars...
Also interesting to see the "luckiest" drivers all drove for Ferrari showing Byrne had the measure of Newey back in the day of both Aero and reliability.
By the way did anybody else notice Lewis being in a entirely different county with the drivers parade lap? please log in to view this image Or is Lewis trying to give us some History lesson about 1950's America?
