Harvey stays as Director and to advise Haigh, I will celebrate when Harvey fcuks off completely. Bates as President, Harvey a Director and pulling a fat wage? Come on GFH, flex some muscle and boot them out!!

Murphy a positive step, now what's the story with Rowe at Posh? He was available for a lot less, think Barry Fry will probably push his price up if the Murphy fee is £1m. Anyway, nice to fcuk the Venkys in a transfer chase, they would easily be able to offer double in wages to Murphy. Waiting for official announcement just in case they do!! Murphy will do the math, and should realise that Leeds the better option, but his former youth coach is now at Rovers, so......

    Murphy
    Green
    Austin
    Brown
    Dawson
    Norris
    Pugh

theres a few CM's there, we really need to let a few go!

Pugh, Norris & Brown for me. I wonder if Mcdermott is planning on using wingers this campaign or sticking with a dimond? I guess if we see wingers come in that will answer that one! Its good to have alternatives though or we will get figured out all the time.

I dunno, I just get the impression that we were only keen on him for free and we realised he wasn't on a free and decided he wasn't worth a transfer fee. I said it at the time

I could be completely wrong though

Personally I'd get rid of Pugh and Norris and send out Dawson on loan at least for a few months to get him some experience

    Genuinely shocked.

Now to clear out some dead wood and make some space in the squad for a few more players of the same ilk and things are definitely looking up! Still need to sell Pugh/Norris/Brown/Varney and bring in 2/3 more, but great start. Would love Rowe to be next!

The "us against them" mentality between opposing sets of our own supporters needs to stop. "I told you so" has no place here.

The jury is still out for me. We've signed 2 prospects from League 1, that's all. No £10m striker or anything like that. Let's not get carried away! And they've only committed £1m on Murphy, not paid it out in one go, so don't be deceived by the headline number. There's a lot of proving still required for me. They've still got the smell of Bates & Harvey lingering at ER for one thing. And we've now got a Chairman & an MD who've never been near a football club in their lives. And still no plan announced re. ER or TA - even if they said to us we'll get in the Premier League first, then buy them back, I would accept that, but it just seems to be an aimless stumbling on & desperate search for investment. Room for improvement, but still room for worry.

I still remain cautiously optimistic, btw, but you may have noticed that I still insist on retaining my cynisism (it's in the Jock DNA).

Afternoon all. Before we all jump up and down with delight, let's wait and see how it goes. Paynter came to us from L1 having scored a shed load. This guy's coming to us from L1 as an apparently class act. I hope it works out for him & he can handle the pressure of playing in front of 25 to 30k each week, which is the sort of crowd we will get if we play good footy and are challenging for autotop 6.

You paid a decent amount for Lee Peltier last year

Who's to say Murphy wont turn out like he did

Peltier really wasn't that bad for us when he played RB or centre half, it's just when we played him at LB <yikes>

We did pay too much for him though <ok>

Ok so we have signed lg one players, I was talking to an Everton fan on Saturday night, and apart from the fact he wants moyles to fail big time, he also said that matt smith was pure class when he played against them and he actually hoped that Everton would take a punt on him, the talk from Crewe supporters is if we are indeed signing Murphy for one million we are getting a bargain at 6ft 2" he is a hard working midfielder who makes driving runs and likes to pull the strings in midfield , he has also played right wing for Crewe but prefers the central role.
I for one think we have made two good signings , I hope for more to come, mighty try not to be to envious pal the desperation is starting to creep in to your wumming !!!

Because we over payed for Peltier and that was a Warnock signing that we (fans) weren't that keen on. He was also second choice signing to Joel Ward.

In fairnes Peltier hasn't done poorly for us, hasn't been outstanding either but he will have a place in our team this season coming as well. Not a total waste of money but probably not worth what we payed (although his true value would probs be around 500k, so only overpayed by around 200k)

I also back BMcD far more than Warnock, this guy has had a huge number of scouts follow him including a few prem teams. Crewe have brought through a lot of good players from their academy and he is a young exciting prospect. Your right he could turn out to be poor (although I personally don't see it happening) but its the intent that I am enjoying

A good day to be a Leeds fan at last. Not only do we sign a decent prospect for £1m, but Harvey drops from Chief Exec to Director. That's robbed him of one sock, he just needs to get the other one & Sock off!!

A light hearted dig based on his few months with us <ok> (I'm secretly concerned he's going to re-find his form for you guys....)

meh, I wouldn't be concerned. And a good point is that he is still our player technically so if our strikers are struggling and he is in great form then we just recall him (assuming that is in the deal)

He's still our player though so if he stops imitating a cart horse and actually scores a few goals for Millwall we can sell him for decent money in a years time <ok>
