The fact that they have let Bothroyd, DJ and Hulse go can mean one of two things. Either Remy is staying or they're bringing someone very good in, or possibly even both of these.
The only reason I can think of is possibly the fact that neither Campell or Bothroyd have a relegation clause in their contract (would be stupid if they didnt, but this is qpr!). Perhaps we think we can get someone who will give a similar performance over the season cheaper.
I do not get the fans fascination with DJ Campbell. He has had one good season in his career, he is not all that! Everytime he turned out for us he was overweight and never looked like scoring. Poor signing and good to release along with the other 4. Remy is the key, if he stays great, if he is sold hopefully some cash used to buy a better player than Campbell.
No one is mentioning that we have AJ and if (and I know IF) he stays fit he will be great in the Championship. So perhaps, just perhaps, we are not as desolate up front as some people think.
I was thinking the same thing, 3 probably 4 strikers(as they like to call themselves) going, not even Harry would do that if he didn't have some expectations.
I think it's simple arithmetic at the moment: there's too many players on the books and the wage cost is too high, so who can we say bye-bye to the easiest? It stands to reason that if you've got players that haven't exactly pulled up any trees whilst wearing the hoops, and they're coming to the end of their contracts or have release clauses, then they're out the door.
The 2 games a week notion is a bit of a myth. Have a look at the fixtures, there aren't that many mid-week matches.
You can add in 2 cup games plus other games get moved, we had 3 more midweek games the last time we were in the NPC.
Match AJ right and he could be fine. No he is never going to play 46 games, that would be madness. If he can play 25-30 games then he will get plenty of rest, it's a squad game. Simples.
But we have 2 other forwards, one who only has 1 hip and 1 who could be banged up all season. We need another 4 forward at least because its very likely that we could have all 3 forwards unavailable for months.
Agree Flyer. There is way to much uncertainty with our current crop of forwards. There should be two more coming in imo to complement Bobby, AJ and Remy (if he stays). Then let the youngsters get a chance.
Sorry about DJ and Radek - Hulse and Betty are okay to go and I guess we just might get Ben Haim back over here.
