Is there a date that Sky announce Premier League fixtures to be televised? When is it? Also to what point in the season does the first set of dates go up to? Any help would be appreciated. Ta.
Don't see why they wait that long to announce it. They announced the Football League ones in the first week of when they was released
Their first set of fixtures usually goes up to the end of November. The reason it's taking longer than the Football league ones is because they share the rights with BT. They hold the football league rights exclusively so can just pick whatever they please. I wouldn't be surprised of they show our game away to Chelsea as a part if their first Super Sunday broadcast. I'd suspect Man Utds first game being their free-to-air Saturday evening game.
My bet is that the Chelsea away game will be the game that's kicks off the season with a 1230 kick off.
I'm not too sure on this^ The 12:30 game is live on BT and is a fourth pick... are there three better games that Sky will want? Especially with the whole 'Return of Mourinho'.
I haven't seen anything to suggest that it won't be today - though I would probably have expected them by now.
It looks like they are expected today... Ian Abrahams ‏@BroadcastMoose Should have a better idea today about the opening fixtures when the Televised games are announced.
from the Chelsea website: * Tickets will not go on sale from Monday 8 July as planned. Further announcements will be made once the live TV games are confirmed.
SSN said just after the fixtures were released that July 8th was to be the date that they would confirm there first lives dates. Nothing yet from BT either so i suspect that the PL will want the tv companies to issues releases and dates at the same time. Nothing as of yet on the official BPL website either.
Does it matter yet ? As long as they let it out by the end of july that will do for me. I am now planning for the sunday as things stand atm.
Bumped thread due to the subject matter Less saturday PL games in the future It would appear that Richard Scudamore the top man @ PL hq is in negotiations with BT sport to add an extra package for when the new Live TV rights are discussed early in 2015. The PL and BT sport would like Live TV games played on a sunday night from the start of season 2016/17. . More wonga at least for the clubs then.
Why do you see this as something worth somersaulting over? If it happens it will be another (& final for some) kick in the bollocks to supporters.
