Apart from Aluko i don't think we have a premiership quality striker at the club so Holt for two million or less i would go for as long as we brought in two other forwards as well. He is big and strong and will go in for any 50/50 ball and often win it, however i would not put him alongside Austin because as a pairing i do not think they would be quick enough together.
I wouldn't mind Holt coming in, but he's not going to keep us up, he'd have to be one of two or three striker additions.
no sorry not both. I don't get why people think we should just fill up on strikers. Numbers isn't the key it's about finding the right type. Holt and Austin would not be a good partnership (slow ****s). Aluko and Austin may work better. It really depends on what will happen to prozzy and fryatt, any idea if they are in Brucie's plans? 2 strikers may be the right number to get but I'd rather spend a **** load on a really quality player than just fill up on slow twats. prozzy, fryatt, austin and holt would be the slowest strike force in the history of the game.
Holt/Austin and Odemwingie/A N Other first 2 are your lumbering battering rams second 2 are your nimble strikers - perfect for a pick 'n' mix pairing!
Can anyone that has seen a lot of Hooper give us a well known/Hull City player that he compares to in terms of speed and positioning as I have seen that he is technically good but I don't know fully what type of striker he would be for us. I would love to see Odemwingie come in as he can play a variety of positions up front and out wide and he has a burst of pace, this is added to the fact that he is fairly cheap and comes with a very good top flight goal record. I would also love to have Altidore back as it seems he has improved drastically and to have some sort of squad depth I think we need 3 new forwards.
I'm beginning to wonder if City are working on a loan for the second, or even third striker. I'm sure Romelu Lukaku singlehandedly giving West Brom their highest league position for decades will not have gone unnoticed, and it is certainly a VERY cost effective and risk free option IF you get the right player.
Yeah, many reports saying we're in for Richard Dunne although I can't see why we'd even want him. We have Hobbs, Chester, Figueroa (unless he plays LWB), Davies, McShane, Bruce & Faye.
Chelsea will have Cavani, Ba and Torres so may decide to let Lukaku out for another season. That would be incredible for us if it happened and he came here.
I am personally a little concerned about our strikeforce. We can all have our own opinions about who is the better target but I feel as though we aren't trying to go for the right level. We seem to be going for unproven, british (and therefore overpriced) players and we don't seem to have that much competition for them (in the PL) I think we should be looking at a Lukaku, Bony, Wijnaldum or Pukki
If we can nick him on loan, he'd be a cracking signing. Somebody linked us to him back in January; if Schalke 04 don't need him, I wouldn't think twice about getting him in. Lukaku has already been told he isn't going back out on loan this season and even if he did, he'd probably go to a more established team like Fulham or back to WBA. Bony is probably going to end up at Swansea and I'm not sure we could compete with their money and offer of European football, as much as a great signing that he'd be.
Right so you wouldn't go for expensive untried british players in favour of even more expensive untried foreign players? Although the names you mention are exciting ill give you that. Maybe Giovinco will be available?
