OK craig, we get it, you dont like the joke thread... now hows about those of us that really dont care/dont mind it make up our own mind about it without you shoving your views down our throat.
But this is the internet, the thread title was also a clue, the clue being if you don't like offensive jokes then don't click on this thread, this makes me raise the question, why did you click on the thread if you are so easily offended?
I don't condone rape, racism, infanticide or any other foul thing like that. The reason offensive jokes are so funny is because they push limits, Frankie Boyle is a perfect example, he is offensive and goes the extra mile in comedy but I doubt he is a racist, he just uses dark humour as a source of his act.
Back to football, I'd like to see a 4-2-3-1, if we got Amrabat then him, Aluko and Brady as the attacking midfielders behind a good striker would be enough to cause trouble for the other teams.
So do I, but I wouldn't go searching for the mentioned joke categories and then expect "Knock-Knock" jokes.
They are inherently wrong. To the highest order. Maybe not the religious thing, I personally think it's (religion as a whole) a crock of ****e, but if it gives people hope then that's fine I guess.
Statement: I don't care, if you are a right wing fascist. A left wing militant Black, brown yellow or sky blue. I don't care if you are rich, poor or comfortable. You can be what ever you want Openly gay, homophobic. I won't like your choice in music, comedy, films or sandwich filling at times. You can be a grammar expert with a degree in English, whatever you like. But please do not label me, I'm only here for Hull City and that's it. If I post something that you disagree with, fine tell me. If anyone wants to fight me that's fine, you can join the queue, as a few people found to their cost last week, I don't actually worry too much about that, I get threatened most days, but not for very long. I come on here to "talk" about Hull City and related themes, I do get carried away with the verbal and for that I'm sorry if it offends some. Truth is the joke thread was no worse than I hear regularly and see on texts and emails, until people know that I don't agree with them, that is. But it was bound to draw a reaction, just as many threads have done recently. Stay calm people and enjoy the build up to the PL.
For crying out loud, I thought we'd already had a thread closed on this ridiculous argument. I wouldn't mind if we were being constructive but Ben, you may as well just copy and paste yesterday's comments across, you're saying the same thing every single time. You've made your stance on this subject very, very clear. We get it. Now drop it. Edit: Oh, and I'm sorry, but "I'm offended." means **** all. It achieves nothing. Nothing happens. "I'm offended." So? I'm offended that so many people are making such a big deal out of it. It doesn't mean you're going to stop.
This thread is hilarious. You can tell, people are actually upset by it. How ****ing easy/sheltered has your life been ?
The joke thread was great, told some of them to a few mates today and got a few laughs. Cheers To all those who were offended by them, I accept you're entitled to your opinion but clearly you're not going to change anyone else's on this forum. So don't waste your time trying. To anyone who thinks that people who like that humour are lesser because of it, so be it. It's my opinion that you must live a very sheltered life, try and persuade me otherwise, or don't bother. Whatever
Personally I think people should get upset by the trivialisation of child abuse and violent racism ... but maybe that's just me.
“It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so ****ing what.” - Stephen Fry
Actually I'd say it depends on the context you choose to read things in. But then, that's just my opinion.
The thread had a specific title, it had a specific purpose for jokes of that type, so why on earth did you feel the need to read it? If you don't like something don't read it ffs. I don't like snakes, would i then go and sit in a pen with them and moan to hell about not liking them? Course i wouldn't. Whatever your view is and your view on racism it doesn't matter, that thread was specifically there for jokes of that nature, jokes that some people like you had no need to read it so why did you? Just because you wanted to force your opinion on others. My opinion is that some of those jokes crossed the line, did i say that in that thread? Ofc i bloody didn't as it was my fault for reading that thread. Now can we just get on with talking about Football ffs. UTT!
I offended a friend of mine for laughing at one of his jokes, He said having sex with a woman wasn't like the real thing.and I laughed, he was offended!. I don't know to this day whether or not he was having me on he either was, or a very good actor. Do we really know what people write on here is what they really mean???
So our resident racist troll from Leicester is seeking to calm the masses and return the forum to its previously more gentle nature where talk of football and aftershave mixed happily? "I'm not racist, I got asian mates" The point some seem to miss is, just because of the title, on our Clubs board, does NOT make it in any way right for that to be posted. That thread was 100% only suitable for the General forum, and 0% suitable for this forum. Stop using the excuse of "don't like it don't read it", thats just bullshit. Even Frankie Boyle would have touched some of those jokes which should tell you something.
I read that thread because I actually don't mind offensive jokes. I was brought up on Viz magazine and I've told plenty myself, so I was expecting a bit of a laugh. The problem was that those jokes weren't just offensive, they were sick. St Louis talked about the best thing about ****ing a 6 year old girl ... Tommy asked what is the best thing about ****ing 20 two year olds ... The Bullshit Man talked about why it's better for black babies to be born dead ... amongst many others. To anyone who's wondering why people are pissed off just read those so-called jokes.
