http://www1.skysports.com/football/...y-Altidore-would-consider-a-return-to-England Former Hull City forward Jozy Altidore, who is now on the books of AZ Alkmaar, claims he would consider a return to the Premier League. The USA international spent a season on loan at the KC Stadium in 2009/10, but struggled to produce his best as the Tigers were relegated from the Premier League. He has, however, recaptured top form in Holland - netting 31 times in all competitions for AZ last season. Altidore is now reported to be attracting interest from afar, with Sunderland among those said to be weighing up an approach. Still only 23 years of age, a man who has also spent time in Spain and Turkey admits he would be willing to listen to offers. "It is a fantastic league, anyone will tell you that," Altidore told NASN. "If you look at everything, the Premier League is probably the biggest league in the world. Everybody knows that and it would be a pleasure to play in a league like that again." Experience On his time at Hull, which brought just one goal, he added: "I think I was 19 or just turned 20 and I had not played in Europe before that. It is a totally different style from the MLS. "I have come a long way since then. I am almost a different player and I have learned a lot. So I don't think there is any resemblance to that time if I went back to the league any time soon. "I have played 100-plus games (since leaving Hull). Playing there at that age and playing in the best league in the world, you can't expect to hit the ground running. "Some of my performances at Hull were not as bad as people think, some of them were actually pretty good. "I don't look back at it as a sad experience. It was a great experience because I got to see what the highest level was like." Some people have said he was poor when he played for Hull, tbf being the age he was I can let him off A PDC type of player however is another question
"On his time at Hull, which brought just one goal, he added: "I think I was 19 or just turned 20 and I had not played in Europe before that. It is a totally different style from the MLS." Where did he think he was when he was playing for Villarreal? He was actually terrible for us, presumably he's improved dramatically since then, as his only discernible talent seemed to be falling over to win a free kick. We now have Meyler playing that role...
Another totally underwhelming target imo. If we pay big money for a duck egg like this then PDC isnt the manager a lot of people keep telling me he is on here. If Bruce or MoN had tried to sign a total and utter flop like Altidore, all hell would have broken loose. Expect me to be extremely critical if Manone and Altidore are brought to the club. They are both ****e.
To be fair, I watched Altidore a couple of times last season and he looked a completely different player to the one we had on loan.
He's played over a hundred games since Hull, and he was only 19 then just like Connor is for us. He was always good for them but he couldn't score for Toffee. His stats show he's well and truly sorted that problem out. I'd take him for 5m.
Built like a brick sh*thouse but played like a sugar plum fairy at Hull City.If he has overcome his propensity to sit on his arse at every tackle then he may be worth a gamble.
Elmohammedi and Dannny Graham ring any bells (amongst others) signed by these two managers. For the last few weeks you have constantly criticised the new set up. It's like you want them to fail. Let's see how the team shapes up first eh?
I am inclined to agree. If they come so be it but goalie as 3rd choice and this big brute as a back up squad player at the very best
I want him me like, bullying defences whilst fletcher bangs them in : I cant find that video off the other day and i cant remember which thread i posted it in
Is Paolo really pulling the transfer strings though? I remember him saying he would identify areas and types of player. Am I wrong on this?
