Pirelli have to change the tyres. They're demonstrably dangerous, they need to acknowledge this before someone gets hurt.
Mercedes look like they'll be on pole by a mile. They're already comfortably out in front and they usually sandbag.
Lol at Greg Rust and Daryll Beattie (Aussie presenters) - you normally see Sky or BBC presenters wearing horrible shirts (here's looking at you Eddie), and these two turn up in the studio in tuxedos
On another note, I reckon at this rate STR could well catch McLaren for 6th in the WCC. Never in a million years would I have imagined myself saying that.
The Lotus suspension is illegal. http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/...-lotus-mit-illegaler-aufhaengung-7349876.html
My HD can show every pointless ad pitch-perfect, but when the F1 comes on I may as well be watching static. I anticipate a long quali session for me...
They could change them on safety grounds if they weren't too bull-headed to admit there's a problem. Edit: Just said Pirelli are blaming it on debris again.
Again, they tried, and the teams said no - Lotus and Force India were worried it would unduly affect the composition of the tyres and give Red Bull an advantage. Hence Pirelli are now only going to make "small tweaks". http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/107487 At some point the teams need to stop complaining about one of the other teams gaining an advantage and deal with the obvious safety issues at play here.
That link contradicts what you've said. They are allowed to change the tyres on safety grounds. The problem is that they won't admit the tyres are unsafe and were trying to change them to reduce the number of pitstops. They've said all along that the tyres are safe and that every delamination/explosion has been caused by the copious amount of debris that must by littering pretty much every circuit.
I couldn't find the article I was originally looking for, perhaps it doesn't exist, but I distinctly remember Pirelli announcing before Canada that they were actually not going to change the tyres in the manner requested because everyone complained I personally do believe that these delaminations are dangerous, and I believe that someone (preferably the FIA) needs to step in and point this out. I don't think the teams will because they're far too concerned with someone else gaining an advantage. I *think* that Pirelli already did and it was rejected, but as I say, I can't find the article. F1 this season is just a mess... EDIT: Chilton "I know this track well" finishes 1.7 seconds off Bianchi's pace and qualifies last.
Ferrari left it way too close for Alonso in Q1. This weekend so far has been awful. If he can't beat Vettel this weekend, the championship is over.
Shocked by Ferrari's lack of pace. Looked a bit worrying for Alonso there but he was 4/10ths clear of the drop. Chilton.
The tragic thing i guess about McLaren is that we're at the stage now where i'm actually pretty happy with that lap from Jenson. Ahead of Perez, Beat a Ferrari, only a fraction away from Raikkonen. I love how the BBC have to try and pretend that Chilton isn't awful
Ricciardo is frequently an excellent qualifier. I hope he can keep it up in Q3 and, perhaps more importantly, the race. (Speaking as a Vergne fan.)
