Apologies if this has been mentioned before but this is picking up some pace on some of the other ITFC forums and sites so wondered if this was news to you?

Apparently we (the 2 clubs) are in discussions regarding a possible swap deal with Jay Emanuel Thomas heading your way and Paul Anderson coming to us...

I personally don't give it much credence as JET has the potential to go well beyond the ability of the rest of our squad. He's a bit of an enigma as well as he doesn't have 'a position' but touch and vision is above that of championship level (when he's on song)

As for Paul Anderson... not really noticed anything of him since his 1st or 2nd season with the Florists... is there a reason he didn't get much game time with you?

Paul Anderson was brought in to replace the out going Albert Adomah who never left which meant Anderson warmed the bench. Its a shame as I highly rate Anderson since his days at Liverpool.

Jay Emanuel Thomas I remember we played against him a couple of seasons back when he was at Doncaster an was one of the best players on the pitch. Could be a good signing but not sure where he would fit in to the team as seems to play best through the middle

    Can't believe ITFC want Anderson.

    Lightweight.

If true - I'm paying his bus fare.

ps - Couldn't interest you in our brilliant Australian - Neil Kilkenny.
Would be a tragedy if he goes.

Apparently last season it was a tussle between yourselves and us for the signature of Kilkenny, as well as Davies.... which you ultimately won out on in both instances...

If you do get JET you will easily have the best player (in terms of natural talent) in the division <ok> whether SOD could get him to perform consistently would be the challenge

I like Anderson, I think he will improve so would like to keep him.

But when I opened this thread I was praying please be Kilkenny, can't we at least tempt you with him?

When Sod was at Donny,JET was on loan,he ran the show at the gate 4-1 i think he scored as well.
Would love him at the gate, but not at Andersons expense.

Why have we both lost a goal each wasn't it 2-5?

Jay Emanuel Thomas would be a hell of a signing for us, and I'd gladly swap most of our players for him. Hell, I'd be surprised if he wanted to come down to League 1 because I reckon he'd get himself Championship football fairly easily.

The only issue with him is that, aside from flashes of brilliance, he seems to become anonymous. Under the right manager he could excel.

I have heard its a player and cash deal with us receiving some quids along with JET

I would have JET here if he can play as good as he did under SO'D at Donny a few years ago
also he is only 22 seems like he has been around for longer than he has

If that is the case then I will be incredibly disappointed with my club.. You will be getting an absolute bargain as I would (bias) rate him higher than Anderson anyway and the potential JET has at 22 would mean you'd be getting potentially one of the best bargains going in recent times

I wouldn't worry most probably bs
a straight swap would probably be the outcome

Even as a straight swap I'd question what value for money we would be getting...

I think we are looking at it as simply cutting our losses as JET has one year left so a swap deal would mean 'something' and a high earner off our wage bill.

I wouldn't consider it good value in terms of footballing assets we would get in return though, this seems to be primarily financially driven

It rather depends on your squad make up if you have a lot of players for JET's position and few out and out wingers it would make football sense as well but as I don't know much about your current squad make up I couldn't really comment there, would be bad news for us though we have 2 wide players at the club Anderson and Adomah and it is starting to look as though we could lose both.

    Can we afford JET's wages?

Would JET want to drop down a division?

I thought Anderson did ok when he was eventually picked

Had JET for half a season on loan and he was utter garbage. He was a joke with us and we were so glad to see the back of him.

Aimless runs, hopeless final balls, and very poor ball control for an ex Arsenal product, in fact, he looked completely out of his depth.

Don't know much about this Anderson bloke of yours, but if JET is an improvement, he must be ****e.

Strong opinions from someone who watched the guy? Maybe, but then this forum is all about opinions. If he's seen by SOD as the sort of player to get you back up a division, you've got big problems.

I wouldnt sign JET if he was free and I was manager of a lower league 2 team.

He was garbage at Cardiff an utter joke of a player.

Combine that with a poor attitude and youve got a nightmare of a player.

    Anderson is miles better.

Cant believe SOD would sign him.

Hope its a rumour if your a Bristol City fan.

If he does sign then it will be for a reason - Ipswich dont want him and no Championship side wants him - the reason being he is sh!t.

He might find his true level in league 1 but I doubt it.

He will be in the Blue square league in 2 more seasons.

He does not last long in any club, to me he should wear a buyer beware sticker.
