Haha, I saw that yesterday when Nick had about 60 crosses and no ticks but he's running up an impressive total now! Is Belhanda creative? I thought he was just fast and good on the ball mostly.
Looks like you're set to sign Paulinho, cracking player and will be a top quality addition to your squad http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23019246
Sunderland interested in Huddlestone for £5m. I say let him go for 2 reasons. a) He's been a reliable player over the years for us and was seemingly happy to take his place on the bench without too much fuss, come on, do his job. b) We have better players in his position now and he doesn't seem to have any real strengths (bar maybe long passing). Holtby & Sigurdsson are better going forward - Livermore, Parker and Sandro are better defensively - Dembele & Paulinho* are better at floating around the middle (defending and attacking) Source - http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport...5m-swoop-for-spurs-star-huddlestone-1-5802951 * - Assuming he signs
Agreed - Every. Single. Fan iv spoken to from other clubs think he's going to be a fantastic player. Yet alot of spurs fans on here are worried hes going to flop I personally cant wait
Apparently Real are in for him too. The only thing he's actually said though is that he's aware Spurs have made an offer, but will wait until after the Confed cup before he makes any decisions.
Belhanda can play on the right or through the middle, and though his pace and dribbling get the headlines he has a very good passing game.
I personally wouldn't go near Belhanda unless we miss out on Paulinho. Surely we don't need another midfielder if we sign Paulinho? Gylfi, Holtby, Dembele, Parker, Livermore, Sandro, Huddlestone (if he doesnt leave), Paulinho (if he signs), Lennon, Bale, Townsend, Rose, Kaboul can play DM, Vertonghen can play DM, Carroll
Gylfi, Holtby, Dembele, Sandro, Paulinho (if he signs), Lennon, Bale, Townsend, Carroll - At a push we are still short a wide man Parker, Livermore, Huddlestone - I think all 3 of these will leave if we get Paulinho Rose - Not a good enough midfielder to be considered for midfield Kaboul/Vertonghen - both first choice CBs for me. Don't want them in midfield. We'd have to have a LOT of injuries to go down that route i think
I think £5m is not enough for a 26 year old England International CM, Tom is a very affective player when fit and played in a system that suits his style. He has a fantastic range of passing and can unlock a defence but his lack of mobility holds him back somewhat in AVB`s preferred style. I think he is worth around £10m realistically, I would much rather see Parker and Livermore shipped out before THudd.
Agree with that, but i think all 3 will be on their way. Parker maybe not til jan depending on how Sandro is coming along
Hope this has got some truth to it...your wish may be about o come true Notso!.. http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892...o-tottenham-ahead-of-summer-move?ICID=HP_HN_1
Belhanda would seem to be a good fit because he can work in a 442, 4231 or 433 in various positions, either as a winger, an attacking midfielder, or a central midfielder (and, given he's been linked to us since last summer, somebody at the club must think so too...or it's all speculation) From that standpoint, he'd be similar to Sigurdsson in that respect, able to play in various positions so a useful addition to the squad and give us better depth than some of the midfield options we have at the moment.
I like him as a player and think he'd fit in aslong as we cleared some people out but I'm more concerned with regards to spending money on a midfielder which would be a minor improvement on what we had last year, when we could be spending more money on 2 top class strikers which would be an astronomical improvement on what we had last year.
we were also linked with that Armenian with the ridiculous name that Liverpool have been after. I'd take it all with a pinch of salt. Baldini/someone is likely to be in Brazil trying to tie up Pauly/Villa if you believe most the rumours so i doubt Belhanda & Armenian are very advanced if even true
Not even remotely interested in that Armenian guy - Not turned up for training after his holidays, his club have no idea where he is and who wants a player with a totally unspellable / pronounceable name?
I'll be sure he's coming when it's on the team's website. I rate him very highly, but think it's odd that we would go for a player like him instead of a playmaker, when I would think he'd be part of a midfield three with Dembélé and Sandro. But: I believe (and certainly hope) this is part of a serious plan, and am eager to see how it works out. Now we'll see if he'll actually be coming to Spurs, now that a bunch of places have reported it, based, I think, on nothing new.
Hi guys, a lot of you may remember last year I done a thread about AVB was set to become our new boss as I got a tip off (this was about 24 hours before press started speculating), the same guy who tipped me off about that (also told me about Bale's new deal last year roughly a week before THFC announced it) text me about half hour ago saying Paulinho is done. I've also looked around on SCITK and Twitter and many seem to be in agreement, with a well known Tweeter - Adam Suter - stating Paulinho will wear number 8 (goodbye Scotty P?). I rarely get info/ tip offs but when I do, they're usually solid info. Fingers crossed and dare I say, Welcome to Spurs Paulinho!
