The former England front-man, 39, netted the penalty that secured the Eagles' return to the Premier League and manager Ian Holloway quickly opened the door for contract talks to take place. But Phillips, who is a free agent, told the Croydon Advertiser: "My agent has been speaking to Palace and the chairman (Steve Parish) - there have been a few figures bandied around but we're a bit apart on them. "I do have offers elsewhere and if I'm being honest, there is one real offer which I'm very, very tempted by. "There are a couple of other offers that may materialise over the next week or so too. But there is certainly an offer there for me that is very tempting. It's at a good level that certainly interests me. "There are certainly different offers out there on the pitch and even off it for me, and at my age I'm delighted at these people expressing their interest. The week after next will be an important week for me." I wonder who the tempting offer is!
this guys a true legend and a excellent role model for young kids out there. hes never been in the papers or anything like that for taking the piss, has scored throughout his career and is still going strong at 39.
Don't blame him for squeezing every penny he can. He joined the game late and deserves every penny he's earned. Non league football to the premiership, proper rags to riches story. Model professional and a top bloke. Wolves makes sense. Gets him on the coaching path and the team sheet, plus he loves the midlands and I think his family are still settled there. Would like to say goodbye next year though if at all possible.
I love Super Kev. It's gunna be hard for somebody to ever be more of a hero to me then him. He might even topple Charlie Hurley in the all time stakes, in many years from now.
Seen him at a golf club in Dubai a few weeks ago. Could have been on holiday or talking to clubs here maybe?
