Morning Peeps, McDermott has singled out Ross McCormack as getting himself into great shape over the Summer. The players returned to Thorp Arch today for the start of pre-season training after enjoying their summer breaks and McDermott was full of general praise for the players professionalism during their break, but in particular big Ross. 'I saw Ross McCormack on Wednesday and he looks fantastic. He's worked really hard this summer, and a lot of them have come back in fantastic shape.' Bournemouth have completed the signing of Ian Harte. I suppose that puts an end to that rumour. I'd have bought him as he can play just about anywhere in defence or even midfield. McDermott has admitted that he has already had enquiries about one or two of our players. He has also admitted that he may need to sell before he can buy. 'If you have a surplus of players in a certain position then it makes sense because players can get regular football. If that arises, I will have that discussion with that player.' I for one, would like McDermott to quit in order to highlight Leeds Utd and GFH's inadequacies, and come clean about how (if they have) have lied to him about making funds available for new players. We all know that Byram will be sold, so why wait until all the decent bargains are gone. Why not say, the first team that offers 8m, gets him???
good mornng! Thats good news about Ross, as its been an obvious issue at times. On Byram, I doubt it would be £8m, but I am coming round to the idea if they really have no cash it might be needed, but its still a disaster I was surprised to hear we were bidding for Ronaldo though, was in the news channels yesterday. I assume they mean us, as I doubt West Ham United or Newcastle United would be bidding for him and I can't think of any other Uniteds.
Morning Elland. Hope Ross stays injury free as he's a class act in our squad and will need him on fire for a full season. Obvious reason why Byram sale will not happen quickly, leaves less time for signings some of fee will be absorbed elsewhere likely. I see the pillaging of Everton by the scum has begun. Layton Balinese off to scum. Didn't take long. Gotta feel sorry for Everton fans, one step forward and two back, same old story. The money setup in football really makes me sick. Sky have ruined our game
Elland I'm in agreement regarding BMD being shafted. He has had the wool pulled over his eyes, as he was obviously leed to believe he would have cash. Only a week or so ago he told us he had 7 players lined up and was wanting the green light to sign them. He now knows he has to sell to raise cash so wish he would pack it in and walk. This would highlight for everyone just how bad our poorest arabs in the world owners really are. If he stays I'm confident he'll do a better job than the other fella who was also shafted last summer by Bates and backed by GFH. Looks like yet another season of crap for all concerned with following this club
Morning Eire, Fella, I think TC must have hacked into your PC yesterday. There were posts saying you were gonna join the Wall
You're in the lead Matt thanks to LFB! **** me, you know who your friends are don't you as Farsley has just made it two for you! 2-0 to Weeds, something you don't hear these days!
Morning all That's great news about Rosco, he has looked to struggle with overall fitness in the past, but we also know him and Warnock had issues at times. Maybe he's actually looking forward to being a key part of the team again this season and that's motivating him. As for all this with Byram, yes if we need to sell, he is the obvious candidate as a money making option, but can we stop banding about this figure of 8m? We aren't going to get that for him. I think we'd be lucky to get 5. I think he's worth 5, particularly because of his potential, but teams know we need cash. Unfortunately McD leaving in a public show against the owners would only draw more attention to that. I'm annoyed that it seems the board can't back the signings, but I feel on the whole they are being realistic expectations wise. To be honest unless we cleared out the vast majority of the squad and replaced them, we'd have an embarrassing season back in the prem if we managed to make it there. I'm much more in support of a longer term plan and doing things properly. That does need investment though, and if we have to endure the usual no fund transfer window, then I for one, want GFH to be a bit more transparent afterwards. It would be shocking business to talk about actual figures while we are trying to buy though.
