Was disrespected immensely by his team mate earlier this season but at the end of the day was still a very good distance behind the brilliant but controversial Vettel. I think he's been an excellent driver and it's been a pleasure to have followed his full f1 career. He will be missed. Never quite good enough to be world champion but was always a worthy driver for any team out there. Similar to Rubens Barrichello but not quite as good in my opinion. An excellent career and one which he will look back on with fondness I'm sure. He'll do a great job in sports cars next year. Seems like it is the perfect time to go while he is still racing at the top and hopefully he can bag another win or two in his remaining races.
If he gets a le man's victory under his belt. Do you think he will go for the indy500 to go with the Monaco gp?
That would be epic. Would love to see him win Le Mans and I think he may just go for the Indy 500 if he achieved the former!
Shame to see Mark go however I believe the fact that its not because of Vettel he is leaving, I think he has reached the end of his great journey in F1 and am not actually surprised he has decided to move on. Wish him all the best! I would personally love to see Nico Hulkenberg replace him, I think he is a super talent and a future world champion.
I hope Webber nicks a few points off golden boy Vettel. It would be sweeter if he ignored team orders to gain them. Germany would be a great start. This wouldn't make any difference to the constructors championship but could harm Vettel's chances.
He'd do the same as Webber used to, except he might succeed and get past. You only have to compare Webber being taken by Alonso and compare it to Webber v Vettel to see how much of a team player Webber is, all the way back to the beginning.
Congratulations to Mark Webber for taking this decision. Despite the negatives sometimes aimed at him when compared to his immensely talented and nurtured team-mate, he has done a very very creditable job. Although I know he would concede that he'd have preferred this to have happened more often; on his day, he has been the fastest in the world. He's a top bloke and I wish him every success back in Sportcars – where I'm sure he'll do very well (again).
