Firstly,we have NOT always played in red & white stripes...certainly we didn't start with them. So I'm in the camp of not being bothered by stripes, although I'd prefer it. Last season I was against the shirt but accepted it. This coming shirt just looks utter ****e. However, us fans are fickle and should we end up winning the league, cup or anything we will flock to buy it. As it stands now though, is it acceptable to still wear my hideous 1984 shirt?
Can we please have stripes back. It symbolises the club. 99% always been stripes throughout history. I suppose it depends entirely on what the shorts and socks are... Not a nice kit.
Don't like the White block on the shoulder. I will reserve judgement until I have seen it in the flesh, but don't think I will add it to my shopping list. May opt for the away shirt as Black is slimming
Nope, I haven't missed any of it. We have not been wearing stripes 99% of the time throughout our history.
Yeah, it seems to be the same people ever year. Stripes are pretty lame, I've never been a fan of our kits, apart from the early 80's, we had some nice kits then.
I don't like the collar I dont like the shoulder adidas stripes I dont like the arms I dont like the solid red colour I dont like the single colour gold saints emblem I don't like the sponsor logo in gold. However, i love everything else about the kit!
End of the day it's only a kit, not like it's life changing. I'd ****ing laugh if it ended up stripes and Saints were trolling.
Since the club's establishment in 1885, we have been without stripes (or what I would define as stripes) in the following years: 1885-96, 1980-89, 2010-11, 2012-13. That's 22 stripeless years, or around 17% of our history.
I may start punching anyone I see wearing that abortion of a shirt* You've been warned. *excluding the players. Well, depending how they play really.
Don't like it, looks generic and certainly doesn't look very Southampton. The gold crest is also naff, won't be buying it.
Hmm not too sure about it. I don't dislike it but will take a bit of getting used to. I might get it though, simply because i've not bought a home shirt since the first time we had Flybe as sponsor. A good few years back now.
I must say that the Sash kit turned out to be a bit of a cracker, and was all the better for the fact that it emulated the original, even if the actual original way round was for the sash to be over the other shoulder. Not my favourite, but way better than several rather poor and amateurish striped efforts. As said before, my ideal next kit would be to revisit the early 1980's Air Florida/Rank Xerox/Draper Tools kit, but failing that I'd like Saints to revisit the next chapter in their early kits with either quarters or halves in red and white. Mind you, I doubt whether we'll ever see too much white in the home kit again. The oriental market comes first. Even ManU had red and white, although the white was around collars and cuffs, but that did a disappearing act.
