I must admit the first four were easy but I did enjoy Milan even though it is a bit of a rip off. I am going to Rome later on this year and I confidently expect that to make the top 5. With hindsight Venice is much better than Milan!
Not got Canada or South America in there/.....my last desire is to get to Canada oe Argentina. met many good people from there and would love to visit ! Farflung..yep you are right mate..didn't connect the dots !
Hindsight & Alcohol change things....so would like to swap Bordeaux for Copenhagen......it was 30 odd years ago that i went on a rugby tour to Copenhagen but even through an alcoholic haze it was still a lovely city....
Dubai is fascinating but I found it a bit soulless and a bit 'wanabee' e.g building two larger Big Bens
London New York Sydney Brisbane Queenstown Sorry to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Chiang Mai, Las Vegas, Paris! It was close. If I were at a 5-a-side tournament, this would be my B team.........
Absolutely not. The city does have a problem with petty crime and many of the victims are tourists. I would add that most of the people carrying out the crimes are not locals.
Don't know if all mine are actual 'Cities' but here goes Tikal, Guatemala- truly the most amazing and fascinating place on Earth Chang Mai, Thailand- A lively city with amazing countryside surrounding Rome, Italy- Ancient history around every corner Istanbul, Turkey- Not the safest or nicest of Cities, but a real culture shock to anyone from the west Tallinn, Estonia- Probably been ruined by stag trips since I was there but great years ago. Cartagena, Colombia - Beautiful coastline, beautiful people . (Sorry i cheated, couldn't delete one of the 6)
New York Sydney San Francisco Madrid Berlin Was meant to spend 3 months working in Tokyo a few years ago - but it got canned at the last minute, I was really gutted - as its the place I'd really like to visit.
from the lounge at Schipol, on the way back from Japan....(taking the piss again Queens!).....there's something interesting almost everywhere, if you look hard enough. And I've spent hardly any time in South America or Africa, big blanks there... Top 5 to live in: London, we are blessed Sydney New York Milan (great to live in, crap to visit, especially if you don't know anyone there) Tokyo In addition, highly recommended for visits: Hong Kong Georgetown, Penang Vancouver Naples Oaxaca, Mexico But lots of good calls above, nice picks Staines.
My B list would include Wellington, Paris (I bumped into CorkeR there a couple of weeks ago), Toronto, Florence and San Diego.
how could I have ever excluded Queenstown & Taupo.....let alone Most of Mexico...!? All mixed up now ! then there is the West Indies, Tenerife (!), Corfu, Rhodes Ireland (loved Dublin & Cork) Oh god...i'm all messed up Throw in the beer fest in Germany, Monaco and Soll/kitbhuel Austria and I've just realised that I really have missed a lot !
My D list would include... Nassau ( Bahamas ) Castries ( St Lucia ) Hamilton ( Bermuda ) Basseterre ( St Kitts ) Charlestown ( Nevis )
