Went to see it this afternoon. I'd give it 5/10 and that's only coz I liked the old Superman movies. Russell Crowe was a highlight - Gladiator-ish in his role as Super's pater. The guy who played Superman, fair muscly. Overall - disappointed in them re-writing what we already learned about Superman. Was far too long aswell and the fight scenes were dragged out. Aye, 5/10.
You've got too much time on your hands. Anyway the concept of going to the cinema during the day is totally alien to me, as are the prices. Just be patient and it'll be on the telly.
Think i'll give this one a miss, not a big fan of remakes and heard mixed opinions from people I know that have seen it... You're not selling it well T...
The film is rubbish, and you don't have to see it to come to that conclusion. In this version Kryptonians are engineered to fill a certain role (such as doctor, scientist, general) So why would Zod, who has been created to defend Krypton from external threats, want to commit genocide? He doesn't need to wipe out humans in order to produce more Kryptonians The creators of this film have epically failed
Christopher Reeve ****ing was Clark Kent - totally inhabited the role. No-one else will ever come close.
The guy who played Superman, from certain angles, looked really like Reeve. He had squinty bottom teeth too - and the Lois Lane was quite chunky and not beautiful at all.
Personally, I thought the film was very good and a refreshing take on the insecurities of a child knowing he is different.
I thought the film was excellent. Easily the best superhero film. As to Zod. He was engineered to be a general. Doesn't mean to say his thoughts have been engineered so I see no issue in the fact he went mad. Thought the guy playing superman was good though he should have kept his beard. There aren't enough superheroes with beards.
The main problem with the Man of Steel Zod is that he wants to wipe out humans Now there's no reason whatsoever for him to do that (and it's the sort of thing civilian leaders do, not the military) For all the talk from the producers/directors, the Superman 2 Zod is more realistic in that he wages war, wins and rules over the conquered people.
He could have turned any planet into Krypton but he chose Earth even though he knew he would meet resistance Again, not a decision a general would make
