When I moved house a few weeks ago, I couldn't get cable so I'm with SKY now. Only thing I've no got is the movies. Got the package for half price for a year (excl. sports channels) Got BT phone and broadband coz of the free sports channels. (No line rental for first six months) Paying less with these new ones just now but when it reverts to full price, slightly more than I was with cable for everything.
I've got **** all. When I first moved in to the (future) wife's she was paying Sky about 40 quid a month just so the grand weans had somethig to watch. I soon got that cancelled. We've now got 3 TVs in the house all with freeview and that's enough for anyone. In the course of my work I have to contact BT to report broken or damaged man holes onthe road and most of the time you get through to a call centre in Asia and it's a ****ing nightmare trying to tell them the location. They ask for a postcode, I tell them I can't give them a postcode because the manhole is in a rural area with no houses near it and that's them ****ed. I end up saying OK I've just reported a serious defect which may result in an accident or some poor sod's car being damaged, it's up to you. I always get a name so I can put he blame on them but usually haven't a clue how to spell it. For this reason alone I would never go back to BT, ****s.
Naw, don't be daft, we,ve got other people to do that, not to mention the great Scottish public. I sit back in my leather chair and report to whoever I think is responsible.
I'm quitting Orange (for Tesco Mobile probably) when I get round to it. All you get from their Indian call center is a standard response: "We will monitor your line for 24 hours thankyou for calling sah" no matter what you ring about.
If it's an i-phone, go to the settings and put it on aeroplane mode - then back off - see if it picks up the wifi again.
Never tried to do it, not sure if it's possible on my phone but I know my brother did that on his so I'll ask him for you, all I need is make and model of phone, broadband provider, type of hub and any passwords required.
Just played about on my phone and ther's an icon "wi-fi" click that, select router, enter passcode, connect to internet, done.
