http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Liam...ity-announce/story-19005357-detail/story.html Confusion reigns at HDM as in May this article states Rosenior given a new deal, whereas McShane and Oxley were offered new deals. I took that as he'd signed?
Chezzy signed his deal a while ago as he is currently on his fourth holiday with his girlfriend (+ the Stewart's). Suspect that is what happened with Rosenior deal and the delayed announcement is probably due to club completing all the paperwork and stuff
At least Chester has finally signed up. We knew it was going to happen, and with it dragging out like it did, it just became frustrating. I suppose it was the Clause's such as relegation release/pay cut etc. Our defence is looking quite handy at the moment with Chester, Figueroa, Davies probably being our back 3 (supposing Brady remains as the LWB).
I think dudge will have a role this season when we're playing 352, he's got such an engine so we'd be less vulnerable to the counter on that side. Either that or Figueroa will play left side and Hobbs/Macca/Faye will play in the middle. Only if Brady gets found out on the counter attack though.
Brilliant news. It shows fantastic loyalty really, the chances of us still being good enough for him in 3 years time are pretty low realistically but he's still committed for 3 years. Top guy. I know people on here are worried about it, but the club clearly aren't trying to do anything about it yet. I'd imagine that's because he's only actually played a few weeks' football for us before getting an injury which first affected his form and then left him out completely. In other words as daft as it sounds he hasn't earnt one yet. He will earn one soon though and if someone then comes in and offers him a better one there isn't much we can do, but we can't just offer an injured player who hasn't played for 6 months a new contract based on the fact that he'll probably be quite good again.
That's exactly what we should be doing. I can only assume he's got an automatic extension trigger on his contract, or we'd have offered him one already.
Thankfully I'm not in a position to decide, but I'd have thought those that are would probably find it too big a gamble. Otherwise, why not just give him as 5-year deal in the first place?
You don't let a player of Aluko's talent go into the final year of his deal, I'm sure he must have an automatic trigger on at least another year.
I'm sure I read, at the time, that it was a 'long-term'/persistent/recurring injury. What if it totals his career? Maybe that's why its like it appears - *1-year deal and extension(s), City meanwhile seeing how his injury turns out when he plays. He needs some pre-season work and see what happens. * It can't have been 2? - more like 1+.
We were a Championship side and it was clear from the off that he was Premier League quality, meaning he probably wouldn't have signed a 5-year deal with us. Like OLM said, there must be something known in the Management of the Club about extending his contract because it would be completely moronic to allow him into his Final year.
Great news that Chester has signed, as well as Rosie, the back division now looks pretty strong whether we play 352 or 442. It is intriguing who we will finally sign up front, will it be Hooper or Austin or both, I hope the latter?
Top news. Chessy's star is on the rise. Wonder if there a release clause should a club offer over £10m?
What makes you certain you have more knowledge on the matter than OLM (who is practically a guru on these voards in terms of accuracy)
I follow Chezzy's girlfriend both on twitter and instagram and she is tweeting about the holiday and uploading pictures
I like the fact that Chezzy made the point that he likes the area too. Good lad and bloody good player.
