We're referring to the SPL now, not the SPL 4 or 5 years ago, which is when the good current EPL players you refer to used to play in the SPL. It WAS a fairly good league, but right now is almost certainly not.

No. The reason for such a price difference is because 20 goals a season strikers in the SPL are often 10 goal a season strikers in the EPL, or sometimes less.

    Genuine question.

Would you prefer to win the SPL and qualify for Champs League or play in the Premier League every season?

Not having a pop, just want to see your angle

Newcastle has already seen CL football <doh>.
Tip for the future: engage brain before typing.

Do you watch? What about the current crop then Allan McGregor, Izaguerre, james Forrest, David Templeton and Lee Wallace, off the top of my head 5 players who could easily make the step up. I've already said that overall tge standard is lower but there are still as many gems around

The Rangers players may well see some CL action next season, but the way your nuckle dragging fans go about their "support" you'll probably see bugger all. You're lot are one more bigoted sectarian chant away from closed door matches.

Not to worry though, I'm sure big Sally McCoist will use all the experience he gained on A Question of Sport to full advantage when going toe-to-toe with the likes of Kilmarnock. I heard he's drafting in Sue Barker as his new no. 2

    So 2002-2003 & 2003-2004 wasn't this century? <doh>

Exactly this, you're a Heysel type incident away from a Euro-wide ban, which with both sets of OF fans being the way they are means it is only a case of when not if.

Surely though playing in the Premier League means a higher income, ability to attract higher quality players, play against the likes of Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea etc and generally grow as a club.

You forget that teams like Partisan Belgrade, Rubin Kazan and FC Basel all make impressions on the Champs League but can't attract the top players or revenue that teams in England, Spain, Italy and Germany can

McGregor is a hit or a miss, Izaguirre started to buckle late in the season (he lost them the league with a totally woeful display against Inverness), James Forrest-not proven,Lee Wallace-Put the smack down beg fella!!!

Oh, Forgot bout Templeton, I like him cos he got my local side a good wad of cash when he left for Hearts, He is a good player but would never cut it in the EPL as he is far far too lightweight

Mayb that is where we are going wrong in the UK, it doesn't matter how good you are technically there is always a load of clumpers around waiting to kick you senseless, in Mainland europe it wouldn't matter what you weigh because technical ability makes up for that.
