Barney: apart from * sanitation * irrigation * medicine * roads * education * fresh water * wine * public health * public order * peace what's Nicky Henderson ever done for the average racegoer ?
Fair enough ek, just echoing the thoughts of NamNed. Was curious where the 'Champ' moniker comes from - is it a self title or had he selected winners in the past? Anyhow, not going to get in to all of that again as I'm not going to upset the more highly strung forum members amongst us once again. From now on my selections are to be called 'Drever's Dodgepots' as they are dodgy to say the least
I don't normally place much faith in the potential of doubles to shower cash all over an ordinary Wednesday, on the grounds that it's hard enough getting one decently priced winner in a day, but sometimes these things leap out at you; Salisbury 3.50 Top Offer's recent return at Newmarket was not that impressive on the face of it, but Roger Charlton declares himself happy with the run. On 2yold form he should go close here in the first time headgear, and the 10/1 looks generous. Carlisle 4.35 War Poet has been frustrating in two codes since blowing out in last years November Handicap, but he's now 4lbs lower than for his win in April 2012. A close up 3rd at Thirsk last week indicates a return to form, and once again the 10/1 looks generous.
Of all the soubriquets across the site I rank them thus - in terms of humorous appeal only of course : 1. Sir Barney Chuckles - Whimsical and a hark back to the golden days 2. Princess Newmarket - Inspires prurient thoughts of the most base nature ! 3. The Master of Glesga - Makes me laugh thinking of a tartan swathed , ginger haired axe maniac 4. Stickwise - the man Hugh Taylor would like to be But as SBC reminds us - and what a lovely name for a knight - the forums favourite trainer does hold sway over all ... long may it continue !! Now then - back to the coal - face ...or a latte as you might call it ... Ekbalco the Slayer ... Nice to see us all getting on .... oh and the one I forgot ... 5. Ron .... surely a name to put us at ease but really sinister in extremis !!!
Like anton dolin and mighty clarets nicked another from here for a luck 15 with my other post I will also take an ew chance on autum spirit 25/1 seems massive good luck all again
Salisbury 2.20 Meeting Waters 5/4 Not the type of price I usually put up but this filly caught my eye big style on her first start, she looked big and unfit beforehand and as though she would need the run badly, so I was quite surprised that she ran as well as she did and with improvement guaranteed, she looks an odds on shot to me with Moore on.
Great shout from Drevers dodgepots , chaninbar and Crackers .... BUT YOU GOTTA ASK YOURSELF ... where do they get these names from ? Enjoy the moment lads !!
Playing with winnings so I have put a Lucky 15 on the following... Alwaystheoptimist 4/1 Cool Macavity 9/4 Asian Prince 12/1 Strongly Suggested 10/3
I've no idea where other people got their names from Ekbalco but I know I got mine from winning a tournament run on here with a 12/1 winner in the final. I find it quite amusing that it's always the people who barely contribute on here who like to shoot their mouths off.
Good start Badger!! Gave up on Keki Buku long ago but he won that well enough in the end, top stuff!!
If your referring to the horse Buachaill Alainn, it is Irish and translates to English as Beautiful Boy. Well done with the winner.
