He just epitomises hard work, integrity, honesty, realism and above all the sheer genius of taking average players as individuals and turning them into extra ordinary players who play above their 'norms'. We may have very little money to spend in this transfer window but I am just so bloody pleased that we have someone of Mick's calibre in charge of things. I haven't been this confident about the prospects for a truly memorable season since Burley 99/00! We will be under the radar as far as most people's contenders for promotion are concerned but that is the way I like it!

    Roll on the new season....

Spot on jonny and like you and many more of us I feel we are in safe hands after years of shambolic management. By the way Ive just got back from holiday and Ive just found out that weve signed Murphy on a permanent deal, and I think he deserves to be given a go after his performances post Jewell era.

FM How do you feel about having to travel to Doncaster on boxing day and then Bournemouth just 3 days later?

Assuming we do have a relatively good season ahead, hypothetically, i wonder how some supporters would feel if we achieved this by playing the most boring, tight, dull football imaginable at PR? Would we be willing to accept us playing with 9 men behind the ball, but nicking a few 1-0's and nil-nils? Or we would we prefer to be a little more imaginative and going for open, attractive and entertaining football, but losing more than we win?

I don't think it has to be about one style of play or the other but getting a balance. The biggest improvement under MM is that we've become more difficult to beat, once that's achieved the knock on is that the whole team has more confidence and can express itself.Look at how vunerable we were to catastrophic collapses under Keane and Jewell even during matches where we'd shown glimpses of promise.

I saw the fixture list jonny and as you say, Donny away followed by Bournemouth away you just could nt make it up. We will probably choose just one of those to go to.

It just goes to show how much Bullsh*t keane and jewell spouted about not being able to attract decent players due to our location! Jay Tabb has accepted a pay cut to come and play for us! He has turned down more money from other clubs to play for Mick & Terry! The same with Dids, Murphy and Skuse. We are really starting to build something special here after all the hellish years of the Magilton, Keane & Jewell eras. <ok>

I think changed economic circumstances, the FFP system etc all have a part to play in players accepting reduced pay and signing for us.That's not to say I'm not really pleased with how things are shaping up under MM.

What I would say to that is the players we signed/tried to sign under Jim/Keane and Jewell were more sought after than the ones Mick has signed.

I have to say if we didn't have Mick as our manager I would be slightly concerned, as I do think our squad and who we have recruited is fairly average but Mick has a great track record of getting the best out of average players in this division, so I'm sure we will do well!!
