Yeah, it was a great day out.

I've got to clear this up, as if you didn't know, I'm a United fan. Not just first and foremost but, in reality, only a United fan. I did get well involved yesterday though and was seriously glad to see them win, I just don't think I'd have been that badly affected had they not won. My two boys will be encouraged to support Swansea as they are their local team and when they want to go I'll take them and I DO support them but United are MY local team and that is never going to change. Be interesting when United come down here in the league, not sure I'll be very welcome in the west stand!

Tell you what, it is a genuine feel good success story. All cliches aside, I was at the match at Vetch Field which had they lost they'd have been out if the league and into oblivion. To be in the premier league eight years later is a fantastic achievement.

I'm proper knackered now. Just want to get home and curl up, no drinking tonight. Told my eldest I would take him to the 'football parade' so not much chance of curling up.

    I've got a pet hate to add to the others, was astounded by this one;

#22 when stood in the queue at the hot chicken counter at the supermarket and it comes to your turn and the woman say's 'who's next?' some bloke who's just arrived behind you says 'can I have three chicken drumsticks?'
Tempting as it was to tell him to **** off, ignorant ****, I laughed and said I didn't realise I had my invisible cloak on. Manners clearly lacking in some round these parts.

As 606 is closed and ja606 seems ****ed I'm suprised by how little action there is on here. Is there a rival?

I bet when the season starts or when the transfers start flying around like Jordan's underwear it will get a bit lively in here, anyway it's nice to settle into the new gaff, get to know some new reds to chew the fat with, then unleash hell when it it's needed:)

Chops, I saw some footage of the event, Swan's fans were pretty impressive have to say, 40,000 made some noise. And now a potential £500m boost to the local economy in one season, can't be bad eh?

I'll have to head west when United go there, can't wait.

We have just been "battered" by Messi & co so apparently we respond by putting a bid in for Charlie Adam!!!

Can't wait for actual signings to be made, 'cos I can't stomach a whole summer of the media peddling United are after everyone from Mr. Blobby to Sheryl Cole!

Charlie Adam? Never in a zillion years. He's alright but that's not good enough. We need BIG players, who perform on the world stage - he played well in a side that got relegated. He's 20 odd & still playing for Blackpool. Leave him for the dippers.

In Blackpool at the minute as it happens. Went to the pleasure beach with the family yesterday & stayed over. I love this place again. I had fantastic holidays here as a kid, then as an adult I realised it was a complete **** hole. But since I've been bringing my two back here I've fallen back in love with the joint.

It's actually quite clean now compared to when I used to come.

I suppose in signing Owen we'll sell Berbatov and, hopefully, recall Wellbeck. There's no value to Owen so looking at it financially it could make sense. Sad as that is, scraping about to get some money back for Berbatov.
It seemed strange to me for the CL final to have Owen on the bench and not Berbatov, at least Berbatov offers something completely different, even if that difference is affable indifference, Owen wouldn't have.
Water under the bridge now eh, on to next season. Adam would not excatly have me jumping for joy, he'd be worth it at about £8miilion as long as two more CM's were bought but anything above that I'd steer clear. I saw one that Lassanna Diarra might be getting looked at as a defnsive option. I think if he were any good Chelsea, Arsenal and now Real wouldn't be letting him go.

Aye. Wouldn't care too much so if we could get another striker. However with Berb's future undecided and probably the return of Welbeck to come; I wouldn't count on it.

Yeah I think Mark Owen from Take That would carry more threat to the prem than Young Michael!

I know Berbs is a "luxury" player but I don't want United to sell him, I think it's the wrong way forward, if it's for finance it's definitely the wrong way, we should be investing not asset stripping.

It's been said a Zillion times before, but a team like us, and as successful as us, should not be in this situation, I'm not saying spend willy nilly, but we should be dictating the market not others.

Well if we get Ashley Young he can play as a second striker if needed. It looks to me like next season we may be going with Hernandez / Owen playing off Rooney / Welbeck, with Young possibly coming in as another option up front. Not a bad set of options, but I wonder if that might make us a bit too predictable up front.

I don't think there's much wrong with our forwards, it's creativity in central midfield that needs addressing, we have wingers, we've got attacking left & right backs, even the centre backs can score, it's that catylist we need to bring everyone together.

Recently against Chelsea & Arsenal we were top draw and controlled everything, But against Barca we were shapeless, no flow, no continuity, and at times no discipline, I honestly thought that Valencia(normally Mr. Nice Guy) was lucky to stay on the pitch.

    But who do we buy?

Bale, Modric, are they that good? Sneijder?

The straightforward answer to that is that the midfield of Arsenal and Chelsea aren't up to much whereas you will NEVER get a CM partnership to match Xavi and Iniesta and Busquets is no slouch either, despite being a cheating ****er.

Are we looking to attempt to emulate them or consolidate our premier league superiority? In the PL I'd suggest Giggs is good for another season but not at all in the CL. Our very best CM partnerships tend to be creative/workhorse; Scholes/Keane, Moses/Robson, for examples, both in a four four two.
In that case I feel we need to now buy BOTH of those positions and then, along wth who we have remaining, we'd be ok in that area.

I've said many hundreds of thousands of times I'd take Schweinsteiger in a second for the work horse role. I think they may be thinking of Rodwell for there also and I still think Huddlestone is an undervalued and underrated player. Parker would do for a couple of seasons too whilst Rodwell came on. Sounds like the fella from Lens can play DM too, Varrane

Creatively; Sneijder, Modric, Rooney himself could move back but I doubt that one yet. Charlie Adam?

Don't know, I just hope this alleged promise of big buys this year isn't just some bluster as we definitely need reinforcements.
