Actually the age of consent in the DRC is 14 for females and 18 for Males, so in DRC she would have raped him!

Or is the only morality in the world ours?

While you hide behind anomonity you can debate this all you like and say whatever you like, Now if we was in a pub or a restaurant i would gladly have this debate and give my honest views on this. I could bring up a friends daughter(9 at the time) that was very badly abused by a teenager, But i dont think me posting it on here and trying to discuss people been reformed, will get the right reaction from people hiding behind pysdonames! Example i post pictures of family members and someone decided to call one of them a ****? I doubt he was even banned for it! You might get some response but as already posted the rest will be bollocks.

The question is would you want someone who gang raped a 14 yr old girl wearing the club badge? The same badge my son & daughter wears!

My answer is no, I would not.

But I will not condemn Mboyo without knowing the facts of the case.

What facts do you want to know? He went down for it! The judge must have had all the facts! I started this thread because of the way the HDM just put it as a little foot note at the end of the hopper story! When it was a bigger story in my opinion! It should have been headlines that we were even contemplating signing him!

I can understand where you're coming from, but I was using examples from my own life as context to back up my point, if you don't believe it then so be it. It isn't my prerogative to make you believe what I'm saying, but the beauty of the internet is the freedom of speech it grants. I'd say exactly what I've said on this thread to anybody who raised the same point to me in person. It's my opinion and people on a website aren't going to change that; my own experiences will shape any viewpoints I have.

If we were sat in the pub, I daresay we could discuss this all night, such is the beauty of a debate, but my opinions on here are in no way linked to anonymity.

I can't find the link, but I remember reading somewhere about Scotland complaining that the Belgian FA had called him up, branding him a rapist, just before the two teams were due to play each other. Now, I don't think the Scottish FA really paid much attention to the case, they just saw what the crime was and went for the jugular.

There's a reason websites such as Sky Sports and BBC don't mention players pasts because they're largely irrelevant to their current statuses as footballers.

I would want to know the circumstances, starting with whether or not it was consensual. If it was that would put a whole different complexion on the issue. If that were the case it could be that it was a criminal act in Belgium but not in Italy. For all you know they may have married each other now!

Or it may be that she was dragged at knife point into the woods, beaten senseless and gang raped. In which case he deserved what he got.

To assume that yours is the correct moral stance is arrogant to say the least.

If you check out previous posts you will see my attitude to Marlon King. I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire. Because we know what he did and I think he's a ****. But he has 14 convictions and shows no sign of remorse (or of stopping offending).

Mboyo may be the same (don't want him) or very different (would consider him under certain circumstances). As far as I can tell this is his only conviction and took place 10 years ago. In the UK his record would have been expunged.

As you live in the UK i am guessing you already have freedom of speech! the Fact you use a pysdoname shows the internet is a very sinister place. And you dont want your personal information flying around the net!

The fact OLM made a jovial comment regarding Mboyo, And The Bull****man liked his comment Stands as testament to anomonity as i am sure they wouldn't want his real name linked to the comment he made! and i guess some parents who's children have been raped wouldn't find it funny.

    Freedom of Speech

Steven Rudderham, 48, was traumatised when his name, address and photograph were published online, along with a message calling him a "dirty perv", claiming he was a *****phile. Within 15 minutes, the message had been shared hundreds of times and he began receiving death threats on Facebook.

I think you can take these things too seriously, it's a football forum and half of what's posted is a piss-take or is very much tongue in cheek.

I also suspect there's about 100 people on here who know what my real name is.

I beleive the owners, board and management are aware that this signing could cause bad feeling amongst the clubs supporters and as such would only pursue it as a last resort and at a much reduced price and terms.

In conclusion, he won't be playing for us imo.

You don't get three years in prison at 16 for 'being part of the gang that happened to commit the act'.

It also appears to have been a racially motivated attack - at least, that's the conclusion most people would reach upon hearing the name of the aforementioned gang was 'Mafia Africaine'. A **** of the highest order.

I'm pretty sure the age of consent is 16.
