He wouldn't be in the process of signing a £10m keeper, if there wasn't already some movement on Reina. He won't complete this deal until his departure is all but sealed imo.
Buying Mignolet is (apparantly) big enough news to be splashed all over BBC and have comments open, so naturally the press will be asking him questions. There is nothing wrong at all with saying the only thing which will keep his price high. Stop looking for digs at BR with everything.
Pot...kettle...etc...you're a fine one to preach about talking bollocks when saying "**** all would suffice"
Nah, He'll be 31 years old... Barca will either bid very low next season or they'll turn their attention towards united and tap up De Gea
So, if asked about Migs joining and the impact it will have on Reina he should just sit there stone face?
All three (Migs would be the fourth) of our signings have been all over the news, I think its more to do with us getting stuff done earlier whilst there is now other news about (why would they want to talk about England's failings ) 31 is young for a keeper!
We originally bought him as a back up keeper. The lad is quality, best keeper in the league last season. You are getting a bargain.
You've just signed a keeper with the potential to be the second best in the world (sadly for him, Courtois is the lad he'll be behind..). I wish him all the best down there, and hope to see him develop as I expect.
Aye, those were the 2 by a distance, but I think Mig shades it (obv bias, but he really does make impossible saves, and is the best I've seen since Schmeichel 1-on-1). He'll be fantastic for you lads (and lasses), and I reckon he'll get a canny reception back here. I am concerned that we didn't fight for him mind, with a billionaire owner, we should be keeping talent, or we'll never be anything but a well supported also ran.
What's his main strengths? I've heard shot stopping and dealing with crosses which will be a nice bonus as crosses are something Reina has struggled with the last few years. Understand he's a bit suspect on his distribution but guess that can be worked on. I'd rather my keeper be able to save shots than pass the ball
Hope so mate, I must admit, Reina wasn't great at 1 on 1s. Maybe they felt that your second choice keeper could do just as good a job and that they would use the 9-12m elsewhere. I dunno, I'm just guessing here
