    Did you know that the Hunger Games heroine's surname (Everdeen) is taken from the main female character of Hardy's novel Far From The Madding Crowd?

    Both shared similar traits in relationship commitment and independence.

    Have you ever read Ian Hunter's Diary of A Rock 'n' Roll Star? He wrote whilst on a US tour with Mott The Hoople in 1972. You can practically smell the gigs...and all the sh!t that goes on between them!

    At the moment my paper read is Master and God by Lindsey Davis. It's about a Roman soldier in the Praetorian Guard (fiction)

    Agree with all of this ... must have read Game Of Thrones books at least four times - probably need that just to get completely to grips with all the characters - waiting for Series 3 to come out on Blu-ray ...

    I've read a couple of Scarrow's 'Eagle' books (I don't know if he's written anything else).

    I enjoyed them but more from the historical perspective. There's only so many times an author can describe battle scenes without becoming
    repetitive.

    Jo Nesbo,Asa Larsson .Trying to get into Haruki Murakami but a bit of a struggle.Given up with Game of Thrones.The books are to large in paper form and I don't have a kindle.

    Read (or listen to) around 2 books/ week.Just finished one of the best for the past few years called "Winter of the World" by Ken Follett. For upcoming birthday my main present will be a Kindle!

    My husband is a 1 book a year man and is reading one sent by to him by Yardley Tiger called "Very Ordinary Offer" by Geoff Feasey which is a true story of his upbringing in Hull in the early thirties to him ending up in Australia where he resides today.

    Slightly off-topic, but has anyone seen the DVD "THREE-DAY MILLIONAIRES: Trawlermen Home Between Trips" by Hull Historian Dr. Alec Gill MBE?

    It's the story of trawlermen who had lots of money to spend in a short time and it's real footage shot on Ezzle Rerd.
