Morning all I think Moro would be better this season after a full pre-season and hopefully getting his head straight if the Norwich rumours are to be believed. However, I wouldn't be bothered if he left either. Don't think I'd want to invest the money in bringing Becchio back though. He's got the goals in him for sure, but he always went to ground far too easily for me, and broke up a lot of momentum doing so. Anyway, Varney is doing just fine in his absence....... I think I'd mentally blocked out that Bessone ever played for Leeds He really was bad. I see he's made a stonking 6 appearances since leaving for Swansea, then Swindon and finally getting released from Oldham without having made an appearance. I know we were on a shoe string budget, but that really was a shocker!!
Morning all. I think Morison should be given a chance to have a solid pre season and then a run in the team. Thing is, he is a natural goalscorer, but clearly wasn't supported by his boss at Norwich who preferred to play Holt up front alone. If McD shows trust in the lad, I think he will come good. He can finish, just needs some love and attention and he'll be okay. Would like us to try and get Crewe captain Luke Murphy who will be available as in last year of contract, but GFH need to cough up for him. Forrester from Brentford may be an option as well.
Morning All Will be glad to see the back of Morison and I'd love to have Becchio back. We should never have let him go. As for worst signing I'm only going to throw one name in to the mix... Roque Junior
Just joking with you wallies Anyone remember this fella? Bet you do Elland please log in to view this image Ironicly he's got Pony written on his jacket This is of course Ali Dia who conned Souness at Southampton that he was George Weir's cousin by phoning up Souness and pretending to be Weir and recommending himself! He got on for a game, looked completely lost and got subbed again! Not even a trial Souness? FFS
He was terrible, but he did have 1 (well 2) small redeeming feature(s) scoring against scum (even if we did lose)
Afternoon all... Morison - I don't fully buy into this "can the manager get the best out of him" cobblers. Play a player in his correct position and that's it. If we are talking about the development of a youngster learning the trade from the manager, coaches and those around him fine. Stick an experienced striker in front of goal and he either scores and creates goals for others or he doesn't. If he is tall and lanky and good in the air yes he will need decent crosses, if he is quick a ball in behind the defence fine but what is it with the comments maybe BMD can get the best out of him?
It happened last season too please log in to view this image But those silly ****ers kept him for 5 months
Oh the genius of Neil 'i've had my eye on him for while' Warnock. Just think, he wanted to pay money for him and blood him in the prem with QPR. Shocking!!
Yeah but he's still got one promotion in him though! If the other teams continuously don't turn up or if the rest of the league are all only 4 foot tall to allow the hoofball too work!
Steve Morison wants to stay and fight for his place at Leeds United, after national newspaper reports had linked him with a move away from Elland Road, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post. New Millwall boss Steve Lomas is said to be keen to add Morison to his squad, but his efforts to bring the Wales international striker back for a second spell with the Lions may prove fruitless due to Morison’s reluctance to move away from Leeds. I heard Moro burst into tears, got down on his knees, and begged McDermott not to send him to the Den
Looks like Harte is off to Bournemouth. I reckon he could still do a job for us, especially set pieces, pens, free kicks, corners
At one stage I thought Harte was a good player for us, but then for some reason he seemed to lose confidence, pace, positional sense, the fans got on his back and he became a liability for us and Ireland. I think he should retire now and remember the good times.
Afternoon all. As far as I'm concerned, the jury is still out with Morison. Strikers thrive on confidence & I don't think the circumstances surrounding his move to us will have helped that. For a start, Colin effectively said that he only signed him 'cos he had to get rid of Becchio, and that was the only available deal at the time. Good start for him, wasn't it? Then his lack of fitness/match fitness showed terribly by throwing him into the team before he was ready. As a consequence of this, we rip him apart in every social media outlet on t'internet. He must have been devastated. Let's see what a good pre-season & a BMcD can do before we continue to slaughter him. for me, he deserves a clean slate (then I#ll slaughter him if he 'earns' it).
No chance. If Footy was like the NFL where you can bring on players for attacking or defending then yes! Get Harte all over the set pieces Appart from them we would be carrying him.
