Afternoon all, Just back from 4 days in Devon where family gathered to celebrate my sister's 60th birthday. The weather could have been kinder but the company was good (oldest 87; youngest 4 months) and much champagne, wine and beer was drunk...often though not always accompanied by good food. Mrs H is now recovering from three successive hangovers while I did not suffer quite as much by sticking where possible to champagne. It's a hard life sometimes!
I wish I could rep the hell out of that. But I have to spread it. I will be back after a trip to the rep thread.

I'm not a teacher but this constant criticism of people who have one of the hardest jobs there is really make my blood boil. There are bad teachers - of course there are but the way that some MPs and idiots in the meda go on you'dthink it was the rule rather than the exception. I do a bit of voluntary teaching at the weekends and that can be hard enough. these people want to have a go at it and then criticise I think Dan got it spot on the other day - teachers are getting the blame for parents not taking any responsibility for their kids education
Morning all, glad to be back in rural France and the sun is shining. No rain forecast for several days so will be able to get back into my routine. Spotted this on French news this morning. "Italian finance police say they have seized documents from 41 football clubs, including 18 from Serie A teams, in connection with a money-laundering probe." There have been hints for a long time that football was being used in this way. Hope that all is above board with the Pozzo empire.
