Wanyama with respect to fans of scottish football plays in a DONKEY League. how good is he? rememebr ferguson coming down out of rangers and looking pure dirt in england? He was scottish captain too.

the only ECHO to believe is the Liverpool one... <ok>

Apparently Southampton have had a bid accepted for Wanyama. Will see how this one goes.

I lived in Edinburgh for a few years and had to suffer watching highlights of their footy before MOTD came on. It was excruciating.

Skrtel's agent apparantly told Zenit that he'll be staying at LFC next season.

Agger could be moving on instead with Monaco willing to sit down and negotiate and Barca sniffing around too (like last season's 25mill rejected bid).

I think people overrate Agger vastly. Great ball player and passion for the team, but awful in air and can be caught out of position too easily.

I don't mind if one of Agger or Skrtel goes - they both had poor seasons and both can be replaced - but not both. We need some stability.

I like agger but this always ate at me in regards to his game. He would get beat off of some of the simplest movement at times! If Monaco are calling.... SHOW ME THE MONNEEEEEEYYYYYYYY!

BTW, you are up on the pick your team game.

I wouldn't mind Agger leaving for that much if we replaced him with some one like Alderweideld. With that said, I really like Agger as both a person and a footballer and wouldn't like to see him go. He's just gained some sort of fitness, and with a good partner alongside him he adds to a great spine. Loyalty is a really hard thing to come by in football, and Dan has it in abundance, not a bad player either, mind.

Bruno Martins would be a good replacement for Agger. But I'd be disappointed if Agger left.

  9. I've said it for the last couple of summer, if we can get £20m+ for Agger then I'd snap their hand off!!!

@arturpetrosyan: When Henrikh signs for #LFC I'll say what other English club were after him and you all will be proud of him

    Lol, this should be fun.

Hmmm - thing is, Agger had his first season where he wasn't out for long spells and was poor for us.

But I'm not sure if he was 'found out' or what - he knew he wasn't good enough at times and tweeted that so maybe he will be right up to the challenge next season.

He is one of my favourite players but I think it'd be hard to say no to a 25+ million bid

Edit: plus what if we turn that down and his out for most the season this time around

He's not ready for a top table Premier league club, lower mid-table or relegation zone would be more appropriate for his level. Give him 2 or 3 more years and he might be an improvement over Agger.

Heard his agent and Dad want him to reject Southampton and wait for a bigger club to come in for him. Apparently he's not the only one of Southampton's targets that might turn them down.

Seems a trade off between Celtic being almost the same level as Southampton, have CL and will almost certainly win the SPL and a cup. Or playing in a better league with less chance of winning anything and getting paid more.

  14. They've had bids for several quality players accepted over the last twelve months but the only ones they've actually signed are Ramirez and Lovren, the latter is of debatable quality.

Judging by last year performance and the Confed Cup, the former also looks of debatable quality <whistle>

  16. Fair shout but I think it is more to do with the quality of players around him, no offence intended to Southampton <ok>

But he chose the better team when he went to Southampton over us remember, so he's obviously playing with better players. He picked them over us, despite the fact we never actually put in a bid for him <whistle>

  18. Your a sarcastic mood then I take it <laugh>

I'm sure it would have come down to money again, much like with Dempsey and Sigurdson (in different ways). Shame as I really wanted us to sign him at the time, he'd have been a better option than Downing and, in the early part of the season, Sterling / Borini too.

No idea what you mean <whistle>

True he'd be a better option than Downing but most people would. Will be interesting to see how he gets on in his second season though. He came with a big reputation but think is fair to say hasn't quite lived up to that just yet.

  20. I think he will be much better this coming season, I think he is a quality player, certainly not world class but a quality player all the same.
