Now that the Sess being allowed to leave rumour has been strong enough to appear on the Sky Sports website I now find myself a little worried over the fact that the spine of our team is starting to fracture! Mignolet, Cattermole (who I know isn't everyones cup of tea) rumoured to be available, now Sessegnon????? I expect that we have some rather spiffing replacements lined up! I mean, if we are open to offers for Sessegnon then surely we have a player of equal quality already promising to sign for us??????? I hope such drastic changes in personel don't cause us problems early on in the season. Lets hope they gel quickly!
i know what your saying but i think di canio, quite rightly, sees the spine of our team being o'shea, johnson and fletch...even as far as larsson and colback, although bit part players they are the ones he passes direction to and defo have a di canio mentality. would keep mig if possible but with his contract sitch nows the time to cash in. catts has barely featured consistanetly for the last 3 years and is the face of the old bruce/o neil guard. sess, wont be forced out but again if the moneys right, at 29 with a year left on his contract makes sense if an 8m offer or so will come in.
Can't argue one bit - his age is the problem and if we make a few million on him then so be it - money talks. That said - I do hope he's in a red and white Sunderland shirt come the 1st September
Can't see PDC allowing these (so called) better player to leave unless we have better (to PDC) ones lined up. Remember we finished 17th last season and very few players impressed for more than a few games. Hopefully the better freebies have been picked off and we will soon be buying more established players soon. This club needed a major reshuffle after last year and like it or not ( getting too many players, too many foreign players, too many unknown players) we're gonna get one.
We haven't gelled for years, going to be a tough season next year but what's different? It's not like a world class team is being dismantled before our very eye. I'd rather we kept these players but have they really done enough to stay, mig aside? I can imagine that we'll listen to offers for 80% of the squad and it's understandable. Still think Sess and Catts is the media's example of 'no players future is certain here' There's no solid interest in either. Press need to fill pages
There are too many unknown quantities in the current Italian set up for me. July will tell us all when we go after the players we so badly need rather squad stengtheners we have signed so far. Any business plan has to be long term with a safety net and ES hopefully has some money lined up for us.
