Would be good if we can complete Fielding and Williams today. Might urge more people to get a season ticket. Some on SOD get it done!

I understand Bristol City will sign Aston Villa's 20-year-old defender Derrick Williams today, subject to a medical this morning. #bcfc

Another potentially inspired signing. Like Wynter, we don't really have any idea how good he is since he's not been playing much first-team football, if any. From what I've read, some Villa fans are pretty gutted to see him go as he looked fairly impressive during one of his sub appearances.

I'm hoping to see both Wynter and Williams start this season, and for SOD to start pushing out some of the old guard.

This makes me think that Nyatanga is not signing the contract extension otherwise it would give us 3 left sided CB's now all we need is another to sign and we can lose Fontaine as well.

We need to remember though for the ones who dont want nyatanga and want him gone. He is out of contract, has been offered a contract by the club last month and also has interest from other championship clubs. So the club wants to keep him but as he hasnt signed a new contract it might mean that the club now expects him to leave so have already made plans to bring a new defender in.

But if you go on rumours both james Wilson and Fontaine have picked up interest and could be going but until it happens we will have to wait and see.

I might be on my own in saying this but id still keep James Wilson as i still think he has the potential to be a good defender just has always been played with Fontaine which doesnt help anyone

We have also apparently signed Mitch Brundle from Yeovil for our development squad.

Not on your own, I would agree with you. He is better than we've seen while alongside the dross he never stood a chance.

Although to be honest I would rather Fontaine was leaving first, Nyatanga for all his failings is and was a better player than Fontaine at least he tried when ever he was playing.

Pearson and Foster might be gone before the start of this season if the reports from North of the border are to be believed.

Looks like a done deal, since he's talking about it on Twitter. Again, another signing I'd like to see getting an opportunity in the first-team.

Also, another defender! If he gets in the first team you can kiss Nyatanga and Fontaine goodbye!

James Wilson? Same age as Nyatanga, Is he any better.... Certainly not. He looks scared with the ball (Bristol citys fault) Nah get rid of him when his contract runs out.

Not anyone's fault some people are happy with the ball at their feet some people are not, I used to be comfortable with the ball at my feet my Achieles heel was heading I never grew past 5' 8'' so as a central defender I was always at a disadvantage, playing as a full back it wasn't quite so critical.

I mean its Bristol citys fault for being so **** when weve needed him. Hes come in to the team when we have had injuries and are on a bad run. Never looked comfortable playing when ive seen him. Like I said he's no better than Nyatanga and they are the same age so cant see any of them progressing. Not at least with us.

In previous seasons I would have agreed about Nyatanga who has been poor and wasnt my first choice when SOD brought him back in but I think that he played some good football under SOD and was rewarded by getting MOTM a couple of times so he hasnt been that bad recently which is likely why the club offered him a new contract and why clubs like Reading are so say interested.

The problem is a lot of teh current players will be remembered for what they have done in teh last season or two so there arent that many players that us teh fans think highly of.

In a sense we are lucky that so many of the players have left or seem to be in the process of leaving. Moloney, Cunningham(If he stays), Kelly, Anderson, Taylor and Elliott have had their critics from time to time but they were generall exempted from the main barage of abuse from the fans so we have 5-6 players who can for the basis of the new side with Flint, Wynter arriving then Reid, Bryan stepping up from the reserves and the expected signing of Fielding and Williams this week we have a good start to the squad.
