It's likely that with all the speculation about him and Corinthians confirming accepting our bid that he just played it with a straight bat. Some have speculated that we've actually spoken to him too and if that's true you wouldn't blame him for wanting play that down. Could you imagine the reaction if England were in the Confederations Cup and one of our players was spending his time trying to sort out a club transfer? We'd be a bit pissed off and I think the Brazilians would be too.

But who knows? Not me or anyone here so maybe he is waiting for another club to come in, it's impossible to say without being his agent.

I doubt Scolari would see shooting off from duty to have a natter about your club careers as preparation for one of his games.

Marca saying that Bale wants to sign for them - without a single scrap of proof or quote from anyone to back up this stance.

I've seen less arrogance and entitlement from the worst Man Utd fans...

This has gone on for long enough. I think it's about time our Gareth spoke up about what he would like to do.

I doubt very much that Levy would let him go unless a really silly bid came from Real, but it would be nice to hear from the lad himself that he wants to stay.

i think i've only ever seen him talk once. It would be worrying if he was constantly in the media normally but was silent now or just not talking about it. I quite like the fact he keeps himself to himself all the time.

Even if he did come out to say he was staying it would only mean the following day marca printed "Bale kept Prisoner, Real to the rescue!"

Real really are a classless bunch of arseholes, aren't they?
Perhaps being backed by a dictator for so long has had too much of an influence on them?

They're like Man Utd, but with better weather.

The Madridistas would disagree. They have a saying "nueve messes de invierno y tres meses de infierno" which roughly means Nine months of winter and three months of hell. Not quite true, the spring and early autumn are usually quite pleasant.

Would you like him at Spurs as our 2nd striker signing? Maybe a swap deal involving Ade?

    *Main Striker*

Defoe and Sessegnon on the bench or playing alongside our main striker would be interesting. Especially as Sessegnon is the kind of striker who can drop deep and link up play as well as playing wide or in an attacking midfield role.

I don't rate him as a striker - I've always seen Sessegnon as a CAM - he doesn't score anywhere near enough to be classified as a striker.

Could Sunderland afford Ade's wages? I doubt it. Before Sunderland fans jump on my back, neither can we without a sizable donation from City.
For me, he doesn't score enough goals to make him worth consideration. We have a million midfielders, most of whom also don't score enough goals, already.

    Who was the 1st signing?

2nd signing needs to be NEW STRIKER

Sessegnon is not a striker, so quite simply...no. He in particular was singled out for 'giving up' in matches during their bad run, a poor on the pitch attitude when things aren't going well is not what you need.

This just in from ****ter - "BREAKING - #THFC's Baldini concentrating on singing D.Villa, which would let #Barça have enough money to sign Thiago Silva. "

  15. Let's not kid ourselves. If any of the four teams above us came in with a better offer, he'd take that over ours.

That's the price for finishing outside the top 4, we have to offer absolute top dollar for every decent player we go after, and even then the player will um-and-ah before signing on the dotted line.

What I want to know is how good is Baldini's voice? Clearly amazing if it's gonna allow Barca to get enough money for Thiago? Are they going to have him outside the stadium singing to the fans? <laugh>

As an aside, if we sign Villa, I'd like us to sign Yann M'Vila and then to get Ricky Villa on the pitch at the same time...
