not sure if we're one of the clubs mentioned but agent talk is that some lower rated prem teams and upper end championship teams are looking at ex toon striker Xisco. available on a big old FAT and just come off the back of a decent spell for Cordoba in Spain's 2nd division.
@bbcburnsy 46s Hopefully McGregor and Davies deals done for #hcafc this week. Burnley want £5m for Austin. City want him plus another striker. Would you pay £5m for Austin? Heart says yes, head says £4.5m
I get the feeling we are going to have a hard time getting strikers in so I would if we have the cash to spare.
I think 4.5m sounds a bit high myself for him. 3.5m - 4m would be more reasonable but other teams would be interested also. It's one of those risks though, he could turn out to be good value, or a few million overpaid.
I know I can't possibly know this but I honestly don't believe Austin will cut it in the Prem. He only shone as a decent player because he was surrounded by garbage at Burnley. I wouldn't trust his numbers.
Soton paid 6-7 million for Rodrigues last season from Burnley. I agree it is a risk though. But as Ellwood said we have to get someone in. Fryatt likely on his way and Prossy not up to it we need 3 forwards to be honest.
I disagree. In terms of ability and style, I would put Austin on a par with someone like Ricky Lambert. Big, strong, good in the air and clinical. Scores tap ins and screamers. I think Austin, given any kind of service, would comfortably make double figures +.
When Austin played against us at the KC i thought he had a very good game, he scores, looks very strong but when Radio Humberside spoke to Radio Lancashire their reporter said he is a very good player but the one thing and only fault with his game was a lack of pace. This would go against him in the premier league but if we had someone pacey alongside him then it might work well
